I purchased and paid for the Geek Squad to mount a tv and sound bar in my new hose and the experience was far from ideal and did not come close to meeting my expectations based on past experiences with Geek Squad technicians and their mounting services. To begin, my service was outsourced from the Geek Squad to another agency unfamiliar with the area. The “technicians” missed their service window by more than 2 hours, causing me to cancel on other obligations. When they did get here, I asked them if they could put on shoe coverings because had just installed new carpets. Using Geek Squad technicians for tv installation at our past residence in San Jose, I thought this was a common practice because past technicians put them on voluntarily without being prompted. However, this time I was told that they didn’t have shoe coverings. Next, they did not bring a ladder to mount a 75’’ tv on the wall. They told me they did not need one, but after watching them struggling to mount the tv, they asked if I had a ladder they could use. I got them a ladder and asked them what height should the tv be at for optimal viewing pleasure based on the distance of the couch and size of the room. Once again, I only asked this question because when I had the Geek Squad initially install the tv when I purchased it in 2020 from Best Buy, the technicians were very knowledgeable about where to mount the tv to optimize the viewing experience. However, this time, they told me they didn’t know and “it’s up to me.” Now, after having the tv mounted for a couple of weeks, having the it at a lower level would be ideal. Then, when they got to the sound bar, which I also purchased from Best Buy in 2020 with the tv, I was told I was missing a part. I told them that I had Geek Squad unmount the tv and sound bar last year, in 2023, when we moved, and that they helped me wrap and package all equipment. They insisted I was missing a piece so I frantically started searching through all our storage boxes to find the “missing piece.” With no avail, I told them again that I didn’t think we were missing any parts and showed them my purchase history from Best Buy of the exact sound bar I bought. They then started “Googling” how to mount my sound bar and lo and behold, they confirmed I wasn’t missing any pieces. Finally, once the sound bar was mounted, they neglected to hook up the sound bar with the tv. Again, I only expected this with the service because in 2020, the Geek Squad technicians hooked up, paired and set up all components of the sound bar with the tv so that they worked seamlessly. To say I was unhappy with the professional service I paid over $400 for, would be an understatement. The “technicians” were very nice, but seemed to lack the adequate knowledge to perform the service proficiently and professionally. I chose to use this service because of the phenomenal experiences I had in the past with Geek Squad technicians. I do not intend to use this service through the Best Buy in Reno again and would not recommend this service to anyone . I plan on following up with the customer service department.

Best buy technicians were on time and communication was great with emails and calls before showing up to my house. They mounted the TV in a few minutes. Very happy with their work.

It is beautiful, but I was never consulted about how I wanted it mounted. I had to take 2 pictures down and if they'd moved it a bit, one could have gone back.

They were very professional and advised every step. The TV looks great on the wall! They were also respectful of the Covid-19 requirements, which I appreciated!

The Geek squad was amazing. Totally professional, friendly and did a prefect install on my wall. They also wore masks and social distanced when possible.

The Geek Squad guys were friendly and professional. They ensured that our new 65" TV was properly and securely installed!

The installer was wonderful and very knowledgable. I wish I would have done this before. It frees so much space up in the living room. I would recommend this to anyone worried about hanging their TV.

The installers were friendly. My only 2 regrets: they didn’t show me how to adjust the tv on the mount and they offered to hook up my sound bar but charged me another $50 for that easy work. Overall though, it was nice to have it done professionally.
