A cheesy entry in the Batman series, but the film only achieves decent level. The problem lies in the script and a failure to understand the characters.

Not as good as the first two

A disappointment that Michael Keaton wasn't back as the Batman, but with Val Kilmer as the Batman, it wasn't that bad. The set design was more comical than the first two, but I guess they changed it because of Jim Carey. Mr. Carey was brilliant as the Riddler and with the twirling kane he had, he showed that he could taking a little bit serious in roles. Now Tommy Lee Jones as Two-Faced, he stole this movie from everyone else.

This movie almost makes you think of the original Batman series, almost a throwback, rather than the slick Batman movies of today. I am a Tommy Lee Jones, Nicole Kidman and Jimmy Carry fan, so that is a plus. Of course, Jimmy Carry never disappoints, in the comedy department. It also features Drew Barrymore.

    Fun, But Not Particularly Memorable

While I loved Tim Burton's initial installment of the Batman film franchise, I cringed at "Batman Returns". Hence, I was a bit skeptical to view "Batman Forever", although I was a bit relieved that Burton wasn't directing it. I must admit that I enjoyed "Forever" more than "Returns", although it's still a bit off-the-wall and crazy. Even so, it still has its highlights. It's nice to see the presence of Robin for a good part of the film. Val Kilmer definitely fits the personna of Bruce Wayne better than Michael Keaton, and Jim Carrey is incredibly fun as the Riddler. The movie even has some deeper movements, almost foreshadowing the elements of "Batman Begins" as Bruce explores and confronts the haunting memories of his parents' deaths. Overall, it's not a bad flick, especially not for those who want a Batman movie that's fun and simple. If that's your thing, then "Batman Forever" is for you.

Not the Best nor the Worst

Batman Forever is good but could've been better. Val Kilmer is decent as Batman but not as good as Michael Keaton. He has the worst Batman costume, nipples on the costume. It's cool to bring in Robin. Tommy Lee Jones blows at being Two-Face, he made the character laughable. Jim Carrey, not bad when it comes to being the Riddler. After Batman Returns, this is where the movies lost the feel of Tim Burton.

Campy but still fun, the picture & sound are outstanding. The extra scenes are worth the price alone.

I purchased this mostly out of part memory and my love of the batman franchise. it is still a watchable film and not on th level of batman & robin, but it is lesser than its two prior installments.
