Batman noir. A good detective tale for the bygone era.

Gotham By Gaslight, Batman's latest comic book realization, is a really nice adaptation of the comic, it is crafted from. I really like the old art style they went with. The story telling was a simple and different take on the usual Batman flare. Not that I have any problems with what is being done in the DCAU ( Detective Comics Animated Universe). I love it, actually. But this is a welcomed change of pace. The special features are what's to be expected. A couple older episodes and a glimpse into the future of the DCAU. I also like how they utilized the many different characters in the Batman lore. The only problem I have with this one is the pace. If you've never read the book, you are in for a very slow story. It develops nicely. You'll just need to be patient. This is another adult themed movie in the vein of Justice League: Dark and The Killing Joke. So keep that in mind when considering letting your kids see this on. It's a buy for the DCAU fan. It's a rent for the casual comic movie watcher. I'm a fan, so obviously I recommend this one, but only for the literary inclined. Willing to let the story happen.

I just have to say when I saw the first trailer I almost died. Just a couple days ago I paid to watch it on Google play and I was not disappointed. It is the best batman animated movie I ever seen. It is better than any live action dc movie. I exspecialy love how catwoman is in it but not as catwoman. It's selina Kyle and batman Bruce Wayne. The villain in this movie shocks a big surprise who you would never think of it to be. Wichita makes it even better. The action fighting is amazing and the color and graphics are amazing as well even the characters are amazing and the voice talent is as well. The whole movie blew me away by surprise. I just had to order it on 4k blu-ray as well as the steelbook. Thanks to bestbuy for being such a good support team and their services as well. I am Definitely going to buy more from bestbuy. If you are a dc comic and movie fan you will love this movie truly. I give it all the stars it can get truly. I'm very happy with my purchase truly.

I've been waiting forever for DC to do an animated version of Gotham By Gaslight and although it's good(with an ok twist/surprise ending that you kind of see coming), I still think they should have stuck closer to the original story and kept the original reveal. I get they had to make it longer and fill the story to make it a feature length. But I would prefer if they just made it a good, solid half hour like the old animated series. They should've done that with the Killing Joke as well. Also, the artwork in the story was classic. I'm sure they could've struck a better tone if they had captured more of Mignola's style.

One of the better DC animated films out there. Interesting storyline but studio could increase the animation quality a bit.

Another great Direct to Video R-rated film. I always grab the best buy exclusive for the figure, but we get a book this time. Haven't heard if this is now the new normal or not.
