    Rated R Edition

Just wondering if this is the unrated/rated R edition that i'm buying here. The descriptions are confusing. Some say PG-13 and others say Rated R. I NEED TO KNOW!

    I liked it

The DC movies haven't been quite as tight as their Marvel counterparts, but I thought this was a good movie. Ben Affleck was a good Batman, and Henry Cavill is my second favorite Superman (after the awesome Christopher Reeve). Yes, it's darker and there are some slow spots, but I liked the rivalry. I loved DC comics as a kid, and it never occurred to me that Batman might be jealous of Superman and that people would look at Superman like a god. A nice mature treatment for us adults. There were also some fantastic moments - loved Wonder Woman's ferocity as a warrior and when the Batmobile bounced off Superman. No it's not quite the quality of Marvel but it's worth having in ones DVD collection.

    Watch The Extended Cut

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The extended cut is the superior movie...far better than the theatrical version. That being said, it still seems as if thy're having problems truly grasping what makes the characters special. Batman is portrayed pretty well, although a bit unforgiving and Wonder Woman is great but underused. Superman, however, just seems "off"...there's a joy and hopefulness that is missing from the character that makes him feel less like Superman. Lex Luthor is also more" manic and unhinged" and much less "genius businessman with a grudge", a weird take on the character. The movie is still enjoyable as entertainment if you can look past certain characterization mis-steps and some odd plot contrivances.

    Amazing movie

Though this movie has mixed reviews, I absolutely love the movie! If you are in the market for a fun and different style of 'superhero' movie than Batman V Superman is the way to go! I believe it got bad reviews because some people could not understand the story. I 100% recommend watching the ultimate cut because it improves the story and gives more context.

    So far so good

Disclaimer, My review is based on the first 40ish minutes of the film due to me not having had time to sit down and fully watch it through yet. Now lets begin. I enjoyed this film while it was in theaters. Batfleck: A+, Henry Cavil: B+, Jeremy Irons as Alfred: A++. The little bit I have seen of the Ultimate edition has not disappointed, It helps to further some things that Snyder touched on in the Theatrical release but got cut for one reason or another. However the film is not perfect, it still has some points that are confusing if you are not familiar with some of the more minute details of DC Comics. The steelbook casing looks great. My overall rating of this would be a 4.5 out of 5

    Great Comic Book Movie

Is this movie perfect? No. But it is very entertaining and does a great service to those who have read the comics. The story may seem muddled to some, but overall it was very enjoyable to watch.

    Very Solid Film Now

The Ultimate Edition of Batman v Superman is a very good buy. The Ultimate Edition cut should've been what was released theatrically but I'm glad that this is out. It makes the film much more well rounded and feels like a proper narrative and film. The theatrical release felt a bit rushed, but given that 2 and a half hour run time it makes sense how they cut things. The Ultimate Edition is a great buy. I believe it was well worth it.

Extended Cut Is Where It's At

I still haven't seen the regular theatrical cut, but from what I and many of us have heard, it was a disaster. I can say that the extended cut of the film is substantially better than what I've heard. It's a very good film and easily should've been the default film that everyone saw. I didn't feel as if there was any extraneous information or useless scenes. Everything had a purpose so I can't really begin to imagine how things would've played out in the theatrical with its shorter run time. If you want to watch this film at all, be sure to do yourself a favor and watch the extended cut!

    Suits blowing up into nonexistence?

Awsome movie. I'm a Marvel fan and I enjoyed this movie more than all Thor movies and Ironman 3. I really like the fact that Batman didn't blow all his suits up into pretty fireworks like Ironman 3. Like how does heavey steel transmutate into fireworks? Yeah, I'm loving this movie for its realism and grit. I just wish they dove more into how how Batman or the Flash is causing Batman to have those knightmares containing Darksied's emblem?

    Why the hate?

So much hate for this movie, and I don't truly get why. Is it perfect? No. Is Zach Snyder a great storyteller? Not really. His visuals, however, are terrific. Affleck is the next great Batman, and his Bruce Wayne is the perfect jaded hero. Personally, I enjoy the darker tone that DC is going for - it adds a richness to the film that otherwise would just be too much popcorny fun (look at what Schumacher's movies eventually became...). I enjoyed this movie quite a bit. It was insane seeing the big fight in IMAX.

    Exceeded My Expectations

I admit to being a huge Superman and Batman fan first and foremost. I think that after watching the ultimate version (UV), whoever edited the movie for cinema should be fired. I understand the film was edited because it is hard to sit through a 3 hour movie. However, despite the editing I enjoyed the movie in theaters but did feel it was pieced together and scenes were missing. The UV will still have its haters (Marvel fanboys), is long, and will not change the critics minds but I think its awesome. The UV really paces the movie better and gave me a better appreciation of Eisenberg's performance, which I was not crazy about originally. In short, get it! Watch it! Enjoy the effects and the story line.

    Batman v Superman

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Overall, I thought Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was a good movie. This deserves a much higher Rotten Tomatoes score than a 29%. This is a very ambitious movie. There were many ideas shown and risks taken. Some of them paid off and some of them didn’t. Nevertheless I had fun with it. By the end, it made me more hyped for the rest of the DC Extended Universe.

    Affleck is misunderstood!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

A lot of people may not know this but Ben Affleck is playing Bruce Wayne/Batman at an older age when Batman has lost everybody but Alfred and has nothing else to live for but defend Gotham! He is not the caped crusader everybody knows, he is not his agile peak performance he is older and wiser. Just keep this in mind as your watching the film and it will be so much better for you.

    Mixed Reviews. It's enjoyable

Unfortunately, many critics and fans of both Batman & Superman gave the film a mediocre rating. As a Batman fan, I thought it was an okay movie. I believe it wasn't "the best" as it could be due to the fact that the director has been developing an approximate of 3 more films by 2017. He has tooken so much responsibility. In my opinion the movie is enjoyable. However, I fear the director will fail. Lets hope he can ull it off and manage to do all his upcoming films well.

    Pretty Good Considering...

I went into this movie very apprehensive but left presently surprised. Yes Wonder Woman wasn't really necessary and shoe-horned in. Yes the ending was very rushed and shoe-horned in.... Yes Lex Luther seemed very annoying but his character does kind of grow on you.... But, the introduction of Ben Affleck as the new Batman was fantastic! (Surprising as I was most apprehensive about this). Batman made this movie so now I have hope for the other Justice League films...

    Much Better Than Expected

I saw this in the theaters a few months after it had already premiered. After reading all the bad reviews and seeing the mixed responses from friends, my expectations were not too high, but I really enjoyed Batman v Superman. It kept me interested the entire way through and the only truly weak link, in my opinion, was Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. I believe someone like Mark Strong would have been a great actor to play this role. Outside of that, great film.

Finally Batman & Superman star in a live movie.

This movie is good and has an ok story line, but there are animated pairings of the two that are better. Some of the characterization of the heroes are off putting such as Batman using guns on batmobile. Extended version is so much better and tells a complete story if you can sit through a three hr movie.
