A Masterpiece
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I feel sorry for those whom base their opinion of movies off of what critics say. This movie is setting up a world that DC fans have wanted for decades! The cinematography, the visual effects, the music from amazing composer Hans Zimmer, the direction of Zack Snyder, and an all-star cast make for a wildly entertaining film that one can watch again and again. Unlike with the predictability of Marvel's universe, this movie leaves the viewer feeling unexpectedly excited, wanting more, and wishing that he/she was a part of this world. Not to mention, this is Wonder Woman's big screen debut! Please see it for yourself and support the hard work and direction that all those who were involved in the production of this movie put forth. You won't regret it!

Pretty Good movie that aptly...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pretty Good Movie that aptly follows the Man Of Steel storyline and sets things up for Justice League. Suicide Squad, however..... I would say, just watch Man of Steel (This movie made me revisit that movie, and I ended up adding it to my collection, sometimes you just need to give movies a second look), and this movie and ignore the Suicide Squad one, which doesn't really add much to the Justice League story. This movie is not without flaws, however, as it could have built more on the Wonder Woman backstory. The end battle is also cliched, but at this point, with countless marvels and dc comic movies, boss battles have become kind of ...'eh'...boring. In a nutshell though, this is a solid production that will definitely please your home theater with sights and sound. Recommended.

Excellent Introduction to the Justice League
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first half had me in suspense, but there really seemed to be a lot more story than most people give it credit for, and the payoff in the end was just amazing. This movie had me pulling my hair in anxiety and nearly jumping out of my seat with excitement. I've also fallen in love with these characters. The Flash communication with Batman, was it a dream or a visit from the future. That made it thoroughly enjoyable. I personally believe that it is the new best superhero film, but, even if you aren't going to think that, I can guarantee that at least 80% of those who watch it will be blown away with it. If you don't expect to like it, you'll probably end up liking it more than you expect, and, if you expect to like it, you will be thrilled to see that it's better than you thought.

Better than expected
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this to add to my 3D Blu-ray collection even though the reviews were so-so at times. I did read a review at High-def Digest which really gave kudos to the video content especially the 3D. I thought the acting was good and liked the new Wonder Woman (a darker character than the old Linda Carter days). I felt they should have left out the killing of Bruce Wayne's parents and him falling into the "bat cave". I mean how many times do we need to see this in Batman movies? A lot of people were not looking forward to Ben Affleck as Batman, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt and thought he did a good job at it. Hey remember he is a proven great actor/ director. So I thought the social media bashing was ridiculous and unfounded. I recommend this movie to any fan.

3.5 Stars, pretty much all belong to Batman
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Maybe minor spoilers... It's unfortunate that Ben Affleck's debut as Batman was in this film. Overall it was a great Batman film, but the direction was so scattershot that I had no idea what the focus was supposed to be. I was waiting for some "ah-ha" moment that never came and just ended up with more questions. Now I will say, I am not the biggest DC fanboy so some references were over my head anyway, but I went into this film with a clean slate in terms of cinematic universe lines. Just some quick points for me: -Best thing by far was Ben Affleck as Batman. UNFORTUNATELY, his best part was spoiled by the trailer and it was the perfectly done "warehouse" scene. I am a huge gamer and the second I saw him move the first thing I said was "Arkham." He pulled it off perfectly. If you don't know what I'm talking about, look up Batman Arkham Freeflow fighting and you'll see. -Jeremy's Iron (Simpson joke there...I know it's Jeremy Irons :) was perfect as a younger Alfred. Nothing against Michael Caine (he's already amazing in everything), but it's good to see a more youthful and smart-mouthed Alfred to keep Bruce in line. -Although people didn't seem to think so, I thought Diane Lane was, is still, a perfect Martha Kent. She was the lone bright spot in any Superman parts for me. I like their little talk when she says something like "be their everything, or be nothing. You don't owe these people anything." That's very true and I like how she tried to keep Clark in line to what they tried to teach him on how to use his powers. UNFORTUNATELY, Superman decides to mope around for hours on end watching CNN and how they badmouth him. Let's face it, Superman could basically solve most of these "problems" in a blink of an eye but he's just kind of wasted power. -Worst part was almost everything else unfortunately. Superman was average at best, but the sloppy story had me just kind of along for the ride. Whatever they were trying to do with Lex Luthor was a terrible idea in my opinion. A very wasted opportunity as he seemed so twitchy and, again all-over-the-place attitude. -If you haven't seen already, the trailers spoil so much, especially the "epic" end battle that came out of nowhere. Speaking of fighting in general, for a film billed as Batman v. Superman there was very little fighting for a movie this long. -Lots of wasted talent. Okamoto Tao...not really sure what they were trying to do with her as she just kind of walks around in her scenes. She's a beautiful woman and was wasted entirely. The entire Justice League thing was way too tacked on...and also Wonder Woman. Again, so sloppily thrown together plot that basically saw the DC Universe trying to put some cohesion together for a big team movie it seems. Instead of this method, I would have liked to have seen more flushed out characters and DC/WB make coinciding films so that we can get a feel for these characters more than just a quick blirb of videos. Oh well...so goes the film industry. Recommend only when on sale or if you're a huge comic book fan.

Action packed last hour!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Yes, this movie got negative reviews. I didn't like it the first time as much as I did the 2nd and 3rd times. Every time Batman would use a gun, my insides just screamed "Noooooooo!". Batman isn't supposed to use a gun or kill. But after getting over this darker, aged Batman I just went with the story. The last hour is truly amazing. The hard part is getting to the last hour. Superman has always been a favorite character of mine and I like Henry Cavill playing him. I liked that this felt like a Man of Steel sequel while adding the Batman & Wonder Woman to the mix. Wonder Woman had the most amazing introduction in cenematic history as far as I'm concerned, as Gal Gadot was the perfect choice, because NO, we have never met a woman like her before.

The Ultimate Edition is the way to go.
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This movie has it's problems, but I think the ultimate edition fixes most of them with its extended run time. The additional screen time answers many of the questions viewers of the theatrical version had and makes the plot much easier to follow. The casting of Jessie Eisenberg as Lex Luthor was a monumental mistake, but Ben Affleck as a disgruntled, veteran batman and Henry Cavill as a superman questioning himself throughout the film were fantastic. Do not go into this expecting a Marvel movie. It is not light-hearted and lacks humor, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

I'm saying good, with a but.....
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.OK, so I bought the 4K version of the movie even though I don't yet have a 4K television, but I also knew it came with the blu-ray version as well, so I'd be OK.....sort of. From what I seen from other reviewers, the extended cut, which is only available on the 4K disc, is much better than the theatrical version that's provided on the blu-ray. The theatrical version is OK, but it could have been much better, and maybe the extended cut really is. I'll reserve judgement on that until which time I upgrade my equipment. As far the the blu-ray video and audio, it's all great, so no problems there. Since I got this really cheap during one of BB's deals of the day, I'm OK with it. I'll recommend for anyone getting a similar deal, but otherwise....
