Although the movie may not have the best story, the beauty, quality and picture of the film is amazing. Seeing the two juggernauts on a huge screen in 4K at home with some friends or family is a great thing. My only note is that when I let my friend borrow the blu ray , he notes that the 4K and extended version disc are not playable on a regular blu Ray player. Only the 1080p regular version disc was playable on the basic blu-ray player. Thus if you are looking to get the extended version on regular 1080p with a basic blue ray player you will be out of luck with this set. Should not be a probablem however as this purchase should clearly be made for 4K users.

Good Intro Movie to DC Justice League

If you are like me and love Marvel as much as DC Comics, AND are glad to see the Avengers soon to be joined on the big screen venue by the Justice League, this movie does a fair job of sequel to recent Superman reboot and light intro (this is yet another Batman reboot) to Batman. It really is too much of a Batman reboot for my taste but that doesn't overly detract from the plot lines. What I love is that DC finally got the nerve to develop, cast, and did an incredible job of bringing Wonder Woman to the big screen. With the upcoming parade of DC films in the next 3 years, this movie is a must see in order to fully set the stage for those and understand the the direction and vision.

No one should watch the theatrical cut first...

As stated above, you want to watch the Director's Cut, because they really trim a lot of meat in the version seen by folks at the movie theater. The plot itself is very packed, and it pulls from various sources in the DC Universe (Death of Superman, for starters). Still, it is an entertaining movie, short of rival Marvel's Cinematic Universe, but yet good enough. In regards to the steelbook, it is a gimmick. There is really no choice between Superman or Batman versions. The box itself is still the same, it's just oriented differently for packaging purposes. Buy either one, and be happy, because it is not a bad product by any means. If anything, the advertising was.

I might watch anything with the new Wonder Woman

And my thought about the movie is generally tied up with the way this movie introduces a relationship between a suddenly dark and uncompromising Batman (I'm surprised I liked Ben Affleck in the role, but I did) and a mysterious woman who shows up about a step ahead of Bruce Wayne all over the place. I know there are flaws, but I really enjoyed sitting back and watching that unfold. On the other hand, the conflict between Batman and Superman seemed contrived, and Lex Luthor's ability to leverage Kryptonian tech bordered on the ridiculous...I just liked what I liked about it. The ending was quite poignant, as well...

Intense; Wonder Woman the shining character

Not normally a DC Comics guy, I was very pleasantly surprised at how intense the movie is, and how hard it is to look away. Amy Adams' portrayal of Lois Lane is almost as annoying as Margot Kidder, and Lex Luthor is right there with her. But that's really where the negatives end. Any shortcomings in this production are more than compensated for by the story and the imagery as seen from Bruce Wayne's (Ben Affleck) perspective. The crowning glory was the performance of Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman. Her exotic look and confidence (not to mention her action sequences) added a mystique to the final battle scene that I watched over and over.

I know a lot of people beat this movie up but I liked it.Saw it at the Theater and one big knock on it was the cut scenes. They helped explain a few things that were kind of important. You will see when you watch the extended version.Speaking of that,Why the heck wouldn't they make the DVD an extended version as well!?Kind of a Ripoff IMHO.I think if you buy the 3D and Bluray set the 3D is extended but the BLURAY version is not extended. With all of the bad press on this movie allready why the heck would they want to add even more by cheesing out like that.?Never the less,I recommend that you get it for your Super Hero Collection.Wonder Woman is Awesome too.

    The True Cut

This is a true movie. I saw the theatrical release and felt like the movie was missing core scenes, and I was right. The ultimate edition at 3 hours creates a very solid Batman Verus Supermen. The Martha name scene is still silly, but the rest of the movie does a great job of connecting characters and events so much better than the theatrical version. If you have only seen the theatrical version, I recommend you give this one a watch and see if your opinion of the movie changes like mine did.

with the amount of marvel movies out now, dc comics has a ways to go to catch up; if that's what they intend to do. barring any other references and comparisons to the mcu, i did enjoy this movie as much as i do most of the other mcu movies. i do think ben affleck did a decent job as bruce wayne/batman, and i thoroughly enjoyed jeremy irons as alfred. i like where this particular universe is going and if the other dc movies are at least of this caliber, i will definitely be purchasing them as well. and as a fan of steelbooks, i really enjoyed seeing this get a steelbook release and hope the other movies in this universe will get the same treatment.
