It Could Have Been So Much Better
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First things first - the 3D version of the movie is the THEATRICAL release and NOT the Ultimate Edition. This is not made clear so if you're not interested in the theatrical release, save your money and don't get 3D. As for the movie, it's better than the critical reviews would leave you to believe. The Ultimate Edition's additional 30 minutes did not add as much as I had hoped, but it did at least make some subplots make more sense. And the scenes help show how Lex Luthor is behind everything, pushing the world to dislike Superman and making Superman dislike Batman. The additional scenes do not make Batman's visions/dreams make any more sense. The good? The cinematography is excellent, particularly at the beginning of the movie with the Batman scenes. Once the fighting finally begins, it becomes the huge comic book movie fans were hoping for. There are two surprises in the film, one I should have seen coming but the other was out of left field. The bad? Lots and lots of talking. Lots of subplots that seem to go nowhere, all an attempt to set up a plausible reason for Superman to fight Batman. The reason they stop fighting is not exactly realistic or believable. The ugly? Batman is quite murderous in this. Superman never even cracks a smile or assures anyone that flying is the safest way to travel. Jessie Eisenberg's take on Lex Luthor is...different and most viewers don't know quite what to make of him. The movie exists first to have Batman and Superman fight, and second to set up the Justice League movie. It tries to be too much and ultimately forgets that without a good script nothing else matters.

Mis-understood and under-rated.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This movie is better than people will tell you. The Ultimate Edition did clarify some plot points from the Theatrical Cut but I was never bothered by the omissions. My brain put 2 and 2 together pretty easily. Anyway, it looks great, sounds great and once the battle starts it never lets up! A great popcorn movie, a great Superman/Batman movie (Batman kinda steals the show and then Wonder Woman shows up to steal it back!) I enjoyed this movie in the theatre and now I can enjoy it over and over at home! Don't listen to the haters!

So much potential
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Warner Brother made the right move greenlighting this movie the way they did. The problem with this movie is that it tried to squeeze 2 movies into 1. The editing in the theatrical version is the most jarring experience I've ever had. There are some all time great moments here though and the cast of the trinity is perfect. I hope they stick to there guns and finish the story they set out to tell. I do love the dark take on the superhero genre. The extras offer good insight but why no commentary.

Good Movie, Makes Man of Steel Better
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The ultimate edition really fills in the narrative that was missing in the theatrical cut. It's not going to change your mind if you don't like the way the characters are portrayed in this "universe", but it you can get past that, this is the only cut of the movie you should bother with. It makes Man of Steel better because we see the result of Superman's arrogance and lack of consideration for the little people, through Bruce Wayne. This was an excellent character choice for the story, I just wish they had taken it further.

Great movie, ignore the marvel fanboys.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off, this is not meant to be a marvel film. It was stated that this movie was intended to be a dark film. If you watch it expecting it to be a barrel of laughs like any marvel film, you are wrong. When you watch this movies expect it to be serious most of the time but still very entertaining. It is not without its flaws. There are a few plot holes and some scenes than make you wonder why the decided to present the story that way. No movie is perfect, just sit down, shut up and watch the thing and make up your own mind.

Good movie if the price is right
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I only watched the extended version and it is not terrible as I thought. The only critic I have, and maybe it is my fault, Batman changed his mind about Superman in a blink for a reason that is kind of weird to me. There is all this build up tension between the two (mostly Batman) and suddenly they are best buddies. As I said, it might be my fault because the movie is long and I watched it late at night. I bought it for $14.99 just for the curiosity of the extended version but my right price for it would be $9.99. Enjoy it.

Longer Cut Is Big Improvement...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bats vs. Supes had its problems upon release and was excoriated for them. Disjointed, badly paced, too long of a wait before the two went at it. But, believe it or not, the Ultimate Edition cut rectifies a lot of these problems. Characters are better fleshed out, motivations made clearer. There are some additional action sequences but much of the new material is character stuff and the movie flows better because of it. Picture and sound are awesome on the blu. If you're a comic fan it's a fine addition to your collection.

Absolutely amazing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do not believe the critics, I have seen Batman v Superman and I can honestly say this is one of the greatest comic book movies of all time. The ultimate edition though makes a lot more sense and the story line flows a lot better with the added scenes. I enjoyed the movie from the beginning to the end. The movie direction was well choreographed with action, drama, and some suspense. The Batman/Superman fight scenes were especially good. Although, Batman was in position to spear superman with kryptonite, Superman could've killed Batman, if he wanted too, long before Batman had the opportunity to kill Superman. I applaud the way Wonder Woman was introduced into the movie; her roll became one of my main attractions throughout the film.

Enjoyable film
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was a movie I saw in theater and while I did enjoy it for the most part, like many people, I do question some of the casting choices. I think it would've been a much more enjoyable film if some of the characters had been played by different actors. But overall it was enjoyable and I don't regret buying or watching it. I'll definitely watch it again. I just can't help thinking to myself everytime I see certain characters on screen how much better it would've been with someone else in that character!

Good movie
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good, not great movie. I don’t know why DC movies can’t get it right. Fight scene too long but Wonder Woman and her theme song save the movie!!

Not enough Background Story
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While I found this movie to be action packed and entertaining, I felt that DC was playing catch up with Marvel. The back story between Batman and Superman was not "fleshed out" enough for me. I would liked to have been more informed about the reasons for the conflict between Batman and Superman. This was never really made clear. Overall it was a good attempt to lay the ground work for three of the Justice League members with the introduction of Wonder Woman.

Ultimate version DEFINITELY worth it!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Haters - just don't bother reading if you've already decided you don't like the movie. For those who enjoy movie entertainment: Had a friend recommend watching the Ultimate version. Liked theatrical release more than I expected based on all of the negative hype I'd been trying to ignore prior to release. . . The Ultimate version is SIGNIFICANTLY different, and a much better film because of it. Scenes that seemed out of place, random, or disconnected in the theatrical release make sense when the extra [almost] HOUR of footage is restored. You haven't seen BM v SM until you've watched this version. Of course, I like digital copy too, so that's a nice bonus with this package. Go Ultimate - you won't regret it . . .

Give it a chance
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was this movie perfect? Nope. There were some parts I really didn't like. However, and this is important, the extended edition really does help take away some of the negatives from what was originally shown. It's not perfect, and a bit longer than it originally should have been, but at the end of the day this is an entertaining movie at a great price. It won't win any awards, except for some Razzies, but that doesn't mean it isn't enjoyable. It lacks the chemistry and magic that Marvel captured with the Avengers, but in this case you get a but more of the gritty darker stuff that can be pretty captivating at times. Is it amazing? Nope, but it's still a very enjoyable movie if you were to give it a chance.

Cryptonian Classic
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Simply put it's an awesome movie. The story telling and pacing is great throughout without any lulls which is great given the story being told. You wouldn't think that ole' Bruce Wayne could go toe to toe with Supes (Spoiler alert...Bruce Wayne is Batman) but he's got some tricks up the sleeves of his $5,000 suit. 4K is a welcome uptick in clarity and color and truly dazzles throughout. Action is top notch and everything about this movie is an improvement over the Bluray.

Decent movie...But the villain is a WIMP!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The movie is well done, but dark, which is what they wanted. Batman is a little too dark (read: paranoid) when he talks about Superman being too powerful and capable of destroying the world and says " if there is only a 1% chance it has to be taken as a certainty." REALLY? The only real problem is Lex Luther is a wimp! He is an EMO nerd that you really want to slap. Why is it that movies now have wimpy villains? The Joker in Suicide Squad or Kylo Ren in The Force Awakens. The movie survives in spite of that.

Batman V Superman
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My kids wanted to see this movie at the theater, but reviews from friends was very mixed. I waited for it to hit Redbox, but decided to buy it with a BestBuy gift card. The movie was good, although it went away from the original Batman story relating to his boyhood and parents being killed. The Superman story seemed to fall in line with the other movies and bringing both stories together worked quite well. We watched the longer version, which was really long, but all in all, my family and I enjoyed the movie.

Great story line by DC
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.DC comics I feel has been behind in adapting their comics into feature films. This movie however does an excellent job at doing so while adding other story lines that will be expounded upon later in other movies and crossover films such as Wonder Woman and the Justice League Movie. I am not a Ben Affleck fan at all, but will say this is by far a great performance by him as an actor and his playing the role of Bruce Wayne aka Batman who is or appears to be older than Superman's age in the film. He actually looks bigger than Superman which made their fight more believable in the movie in my opinion! I liked the darker mode and tone of the movie. Definitely a must see movie, especially with the future films coming out.

The only downfall is the packaging.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I actually liked the extended version much better than the theatrical. I bought this on sale and was excited to get it until I realized that it comes w/ no blu ray case. The discs sit inside the hard cover graphic novel. The comic book is great! I was used to getting smaller versions of them but this one is actual sized so if you are a collector it will fit right in with your other comics. I just wish I had the movie case itself. Oh well, it's not as bas as Jessie Eisenberg's performance in this film.

Good Movie, but Paranoid Batman
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Blu-ray transfer of the movie is what you would expect, clear and crisp. As for the movie... I enjoyed it (clearly, because I bought it) and it is a fun action picture, but there are a few caveats. Batman goes on a crusade against Superman and says he could destroy the world. "If there is even a 1% chance then it is an absolute certainty!" Really? He should re-learn math. Also Lex Luther is an absolute WIMP. This is a problem with some villains in recent super hero movies. Still it is a fun ride.

A matter of opinion.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This film has received praise from some viewers and and criticism from others. What comic book purists seem to forget is that the source material from which this film is based has an infinite number of realities within its pages (even "The Flash" has introduced Earth-2 to TV viewers), and they readily accept that, but change one thing in a movie and they flip their lids. The R rated extended version adds more story that a number of people believe to have been sorely missing from the theatrical release.
