I purchased this video in 4K to test out my new 4K Blu Ray unit and my new 4K QLED TV. The graphics were outstanding and I was pleased with the performance of my new system but the plot of the story was really weak.

Live action childhood game turned movie. The film has holes but the action and speed make up for it. If you are a fan of action movies you should like this one.

Odd choice to make a movie based off a plastic board game but I suppose the alien inclusion was nice?

Cheesy but somewhat entertaining. My wife loves it for some reason. Brooklyn decker is easy on the eyes.

At first, I thought it was a Transformers clone with all of the action scenes, CGI and the requisite female lead with all looks and no acting ability. Some of that is true here, but its better than the Transformer films because it has a better director (Peter Berg) frantic, but well shot action scenes and some cool alien designs and CGI. Other than that, you get the star who Hollywood forces us to see (Thankfully better than Sam Worthington and disappeared just as fast), a fairly too-long film and an ending that they thought would lead to a franchise. It looks pretty but thats about it and only get it if its cheap and on Blu Ray. The PQ is fantastic for DVD, with nice detail, crisp imagery and nice use of colors (The Hawaii scenes in the mountains are beautiful) are all resolved in standard definition quite well and appear near HD on a HDTV. The sound is also loud and detailed and accurate and if this were 2005, demo worthy, but as on DVD, its second class to its HD cousin. The extras only included a few feauturettes and thats about it. Really only buy if its cheap and/or need a blockbuster action fest to satisfy your needs.

Considering the crap being released lately this movie isn't bad.

It's a blatant ripoff of the Transformers formula (replete with Peter Berg aping shots from Michael Bay), but it does a good enough job in keeping you entertained. It's also pretty clever how they integrate the nature of the actual game (guessing the positions your opponent set his ships at) into the movie. Gotta give it credit for taking a silly concept and making it work for the most part.

Fast paced, lots of actions. Transformer type invasion kinda set to the board game Battleship. It was nice to see Stellan Skarsgård's son Alexander following in his father's footsteps. Just don't go into this expecting everything to make complete sense. The Navy comes through albeit it takes a few retired veterans who still remember how to point and shoot, the bad guys get their butts kicked, Earth is saved!

This film has great visual style and action but the story is very weak and is very similar to elements shown in Michael Bay's rendition of Pearl Harbor. I appreciated the making ofs and bonus features for Battleship but found that the humor was dry and the overall story weak. DTS 5.1 HDMA Surround is very immersive and works for this film.

A typical alien invasion script. A ne'er do well screw-up brother winds up in the navy in lieu of jail time. He turns out to be the hero in fighting the aliens and defeating them. Then he gets the girl. Optics decent and looks great in 4k.

The storyline isn’t the greatest- but the action is pretty good. If you have a home theater system- this would make a nice addition to your library. The visuals and the sound will give your system a good workout.

Actually I was not expecting much from this movie since it is based on the game called "Battleship" and I did not know how they would make this into a movie, but they did a respectable job in rationalizing the grid coordinates

I avoided this movie for a long time due to the ads making it look pretty silly. And it is but it actually has a great since of humor and doesn't take itself to serious. I went in with low expectations and enjoyed it.

It will not win any awards but a great evening popcorn film. If you looking for something with some laughs and big action shots this is a good one. The blu ray transfer looks great and sound quality is good as well.

Enjoy watching this movie. Not that's it's an amazing story, or compelling acting. I don't know why l, but I enjoy watching it. 4k is a definite improvement on original, too.

Basic popcorn movie with excellent special effects and an outstanding dtsx,soundtrack for those who are looking for something to showcase there home theater.

This movie is not great. Its not terrible either. Generally + visual effects with OK acting. Its a fun movie, but probably not one I'd watch again anytime soon.

Pretty fun action movie. Not best or must own in any means but HDR added allot to the movie and the scenery is beautiful.

This movie is not an original movie by any stretch of the imagination. It has some good action but most of it has been done before and much better.

While a poor attempt to ride the success of the first Transformers, it's a good movie to ignore it keep your kids distracted.
