At first I thought these were great. I use them while riding my Harley long distance and the battery would last 5 to 7 hours. The sound was pretty good. I've had them about 4 weeks. Normally I use a Sony MW600 which has great sound and has lasted me for several years. I just wanted something a little more compact and I needed something right away because I forgot the Sony at home. But unfortunately, all that glitters isn't gold. They failed yesterday. They wont take a charge. Actually I think they are fully charged but they wont turn on. I've done all the resets listed on the apple website and nothing works. The lights flash like they are supposed to during a reset but they wont turn on. The kicker is, I cant find the receipt so I'm sure apple wont warrantee them. A $199 waste. There are dozens of people having the same issue. I wish I'd done the research first. Real bummer.

I've had this for 2 days now. I don't have an iphone so I'm pairing it with my Samsung s7 and my windows 10 laptop. Pairing it with my computer takes several tries before it can connect but it connects almost immediately with my Samsung. I'm hoping that this will last at least a year with all the reviews I've been seeing. I doubt it will but I can always hope :)

These headphones are really great, and do what they advertise. My speakers in my car broke so I bought these to listen to music without hearing too much outside noise and it did exactly that. In fact, last week when I was wearing these headphones, I was being chased by the police but I couldn’t even hear their sirens! Oh well!! Really great headphones overall. Recommend these to my sisters

These are awesome! I got them for running and the gym and its been really nice to not have to deal with cords! They're really comfortable to wear. The only annoying thing is that there isn't a strong indication of when the battery is low. Maybe I just haven't found it yet, but I was bummed to have them die during my workout.

Ok... paired with my phone and my ipad locked up. The watch imac and iphone were working fine. reset the beatsx re-paired with everything and appears to be fixed. although bluetooth in the ipad locked up again yesterday. had to reboot. earbuds from beats are painful, I pulled the buds off my old motorola surround and that did the trick. these must have been designed by Apple not beats, as there is no bass. have more bass in my old motorola, however the motorola is not as clear. Battery is weak compared to my other neck bud headsets. And the microphone is super sensitive but sometimes doesn't pick up my voice. still trying to figure out the best way to hold/wear the mic for conference calls. All that said, I Love the fact that it can be updated with new firmware. love the w1 chip capabilities. I have it paired with my pc, imac, mba, ipad, iphone, and note3. and most notably about that is that it stays with the device I'm using even as the others come in and out of range. note... non ios devices have to connect to the headset and won't release them until disconnected. ios devices know when the headset isn't in use and any other device can grab it.

I tried the jaybird x3's first and they killed my ears. returned them and got the beats x. love them. sound is good, not like mind blowing but its clean and the bass is there but not over powering. also the w1 chip is nice if you have iPhone, Mac, Apple Watch, etc. I haven't worked out with them yet but it seems they'll do very well. noise isolation is really good as well

    Never Buying Beats Again

I was looking for a product which is wireless without adding the extra bulk at the ears like the Beats PowerBeats once I saw the BEATS X I know I had to buy them. For the first 1 months the Beats we’re working perfectly then after that all went downhill I sent it in for repair because it wasn’t turning on instead of them fixing it for me they sent me an email saying I could either pay 79 dollars to get them fixed or they will send them back so of course I choose to send them back because I did just pay 150 for them. So now I’m left with headphones that don’t turn on. The POWER BUTTON BROKE after 1 moth of use and they won’t fix it.

    Love them

I had a pair of Jaybird Bluebud X for several years I loved them. 8 hours of battery time, when I bought them that was extraordinary. When the wire cable broke I was heart broke. Tried 6 pairs over several months and returned every one including the Jaybird Freedom/Bluebuds X2. Not comfortable, battery life sucks, extra battery lost. I just stopped trying new wireless earbuds and used my Apple pods. Buying iPhone 7 don't want to deal with the lighting connection issue. I was at Verizon and 3 out of 4 salesmen used Beats. I first went with the Powerbeats 3 because of the 12 hour battery. Well I wear glasses and the permanent ear hook was uncomfortable. Returned them and bought the Beats X. I love them the ear "wings" are comfortable. The wire part that goes around the neck hugs the neck sa there is no creeping to one side or the other. I forget it is around my neck. If there is an issue with only 8 hours of charge life I will deal. I actually bought the Mophie accessories charge case. So I don't see a problem.

Before purchasing these I did research on them and found out they have the apple w1 chip which is a plus for me since owning apple devices. The sound isn't that great and not very loud but they are comfortable and the Bluetooth range is great.

For the 1st month these work great with my Galaxy S8+. Now it refuses to connect and the power button refuses to work it seems. Although they still instantly connect to an Ipad or IPhone, and macbook. I prefer my Galaxy phone and cannot recommend these headsets to any android users. The amount of problems to even get these to stay connected or to even get it connected to my Samsung phone is frustrating. I suggest looking at other brands since apple seems to put the most support into keeping these only pairable with their own products.

Great Product with Terrible Bluetooth Reliability

I have had these since they came out. Originally bought from BestBuy. I was telling everyone how great they were until the Bluetooth wouldn't connect to my iPhone, Macbook, or Apple Watch. Thankfully Apple Care was prompt on getting them exchanged. Now that I have had the new pair a few months, a similar, but different connectivity is happening where the sound just completely goes out for minutes at a time unless I restart them. Working on getting them exchanged again... If I knew they were reliable I would give them 5 stars.

Great pair of earbuds! Crazy BT RANGE!!!

I'm using them with a Galaxy Note 5 and an Ipad. They sound awesome with the Samsung music app! At first I thought they didn't pack enough bass punch, but once I hit "Bass" in the Soundalive equalizer, they KNOCKED!!! Music doesn't sound as good with the Ipad, but I only use the Ipad for Youtube and Netflix, so for that they are more than sufficient. These are extremely comfortable to wear around the neck, and unlike some of the other Beats products, all of the button controls work with Android,. My Favorite thing about these headphones is the Bluetooth range! I can leave my phone in one place and walk all around a 4 bedroom 2 story house, opening and closing doors behind me, without them dropping the signal once!!! If your on the fence, give them a try, you won't be disappointed!

    You're paying for wireless

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Beats and Apple have come together to make one of the most simplest wireless pairing earphones, unfortunately were it makes up in simplicity, it lacks in sound quality, the bass is turned down quite a bit in these earphones rather than a kicking bass were used to in most headphones, we hear a more all around tinny kind of sound, which if you're just an average consumers of beats will notice but doesn't change the fact that they also look beautiful and have a crisp all around feel. If you're looking for amazing quality sound you might wanna look elsewhere but if you're into your image and just want a sturdy set of earphones these are prefect for you.

    Microphone is horrible

I purchased these for my bf to listen to music at work. He called me a few times using them and all I could hear was the background noise. His voice sounded like he was 5ft away from the phone. When listening to music, the volume has to be all the way up to just sound OKAY. There’s not really any bass at all. The stock Apple headphones work and sound 100xs better than these. These do NOT live up to the Beats name.

    Cord noise

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The sound is great if you like to play it loud. If you want it to be quieter or soft music, be ready to stay still because every time you move your head you will hear noise from the cord hitting your face. Every touch to the cord is heard through the ear pices. The only way I could get rid of it was to either put on buds that are too small (bad sound quality since not sealing and only helped) or turn the volume up to drownd it out. Would not buy these unless you plan to keep it loud. I returned mine the next day.

I like everything about these headsets except for the sound. Ease of connection, fast charging, connectivity etc. I listened to half a song and thought, boy these are Beats by Dr. Dre? So flat and tinny and zero depth. So i adjusted the equalizer on my phone to all bass and zero treble... meh, sorta ok. For this price and for this brand the sound should be much richer. These are going back.
