Bought these for my teenager's birthday despite being skeptical from all the bad reviews. Within five minutes we could tell these headphones are poorly constructed -- the headband doesn't even fit together properly. This product is a STATUS SYMBOL and is not the quality one would expect at this price, or even at half the price. You are much better off buying less stylish but much more reliable brands like Sennheiser and Sony.

Do NOT buy. Horrible Warranty Support

My son had a pair that lasted 4 months before snapping at one of the seams. Search on Youtube and you'll will see this is a common occurrence. Sent them in assuming the warranty would cover normal use and it did not. We are left with a $300 pair of broken headphones with no way to get them repaired. I have a pair of Bowers & Wilkins and their customer service and warranty cover is top notch. Beats are poorly manufactured and the company does not stand behind it's product.

    Bummer!

Big deal for a gift for the teen for Christmas. Spent the $200 for them x 2. One set had the ear pop out of the peg after only 1 day! Have to get to the store where I hope they will exchange them so we don't have to ship back to manufacturer. Bummer when you spend this money on a special gift and it doesn't less than a cheap set of ear buds do...and you have a disappointed teen! :(

    Awful product for price

We opened the product Christmas Eve, by the next morning, they fell apart. Very poorly put together. The sound was great for the hour that they worked. Best Buy did not have any in stock anywhere, so we purchaed Bose for 1/2 the price, and they sound great

    Pure Garbage

I purchased these for my 16 yr old step-son for Christmas and returned them two weeks later for a refund. Once of the speakers went out on one-side and the head-set themselves were very flimsy. With the refund, I purchased Soul by Ludacris which was $100 cheaper AND my step-son said he liked the better. Don't fall for the Dr.Dre name on these cheap things and don't waste your money...get the Soul by Ludacris head-set instead.

Make no mistake, these are terrible headphones

Make no mistake, if you're buying these, it's just to look cool in front of your friends. I consider myself a bit of an audiophile and often pay a little extra for what I consider a good listening experience. After hearing about the hype of Beat Heaphones, I decided to give them a real test at the store. Let me just say, I was dumbfounded by how terrible they were. The first thing you'll notice is the build quality; it feels cheap and fragile. Everything is plastic, not that there's anything wrong with plastic, but this stuff just feels flimsy. But hey, you're paying for sound quality, right? So lets puts these bad boys on... And then it's like a slap in the face. I would say most heaphones for $100 will DESTROY these in terms of audio quality; the audio you get from these is just too muddy. Nothing really sings in any range. And the bass (which is supposed to be the big deal with these headphones) is garbled. The only thing I can say is that they're better than the earbuds that came with your MP3 player (but then again, what isn't?). If these were less than $100, I might consider it reasonable. As it stands, I now judge anyone who owns these to be grossly misinformed.

These are good headphones - just wish they had the secondary audio port like some of the other beats.

    Good sound, poorly built

The sound quality is very good; however, they are poorly built. The plastic insert in the earpiece pops out and can't be put back in. I highly recommend the warranty because you are going to need it. I've replaced mine three times in thirty days. Also, the earpiece does not cover your ear entirely.

when i fist got the beats by dre they sounded amazing right out of the box. crisp highs and jaw rattling bass. however after 1 week of using them the right speaker blew out. no matter what im listening to or what the volume is on all you can here from the right speaker is an annoying rattling.

I got these for my son this Christmas and they are quickly falling apart. The cord had exposed wires 3-4 weeks after purchase and the ear piece just fell off. The ear piece is held on by 2 plastic nubs that can easily break. I did get the extended warranty and I am taking them back for a new pair. I highly recommend getting the extended warranty.

Meh...Dre Beats once again is overrated

Dre Beats is an overrated product. No bass...really? Isn't this what the Dre Beats line of products are all about? Not worth the money. Get the higher end or for that matter, for the equivalent price (actually $70 lower when Dre Beats not on sale) Sol republic Tracks HD!!! Own two of them...die hard fan!

Unless you have $$$ to burn - NO NO!

Do NOT buy this product. It's that simple. Wait, one caveat. If you have lots of discretionary income and you can easily replace things like you spent $15 bucks on them - then fine. But if dropping TWO HUNDRED dollars feels like a lot - and you expect that product to last, oh... more than a few MONTHS time.... then do NOT buy it! I bought these for my 10 year old and it was a big gift. He takes great care of his electronics, though, so I laid down the cash thinking he'd have a good product. Well, 2 months later: one speaker/headset went out and now 4 months later: the entire wire "pin"/plug-in his broken! They're history. This is sickening to me. I tried electrical tape but.... no. In fact, the $200 Dr. Dre's are broken while the $40 SkullCandy (from 18 months ago) are the one's he's going to have to use - and are still working fine. What a waste.

    They Suck

got these for christmas from my wife and they never really worked. right earphone works occasionally, sounds quality is average at best and the cable that connects the headphones to my device has to be tweaked in order to hear anything at all. should go with Bose for the money your spending.

    Beats...

The Beats solo hd is your all around headphone set with a bit of a markup for the name and branding. The issue is with the construction, it is made very nice except for the folding feature. Two metal pins attach to a plastic base to form a folding hinge but the plastic breaks very easily. So yeah, broke on day two, after a bit of duck tape they don't fold but it works.

So I asked my friend to try these out...

I swapped with my friend for about a minute, to try out his headphones. Same song as I would listen to through my Soul SL100s and I have to say they sounded horrible. I'm sure to someone who hasn't heard good headphones, such as the Soul SL100s, would say they sound great, but to me, who has been spoiled with good quality sound, they sounded muddy and cloudy. It was as if I took my Souls and shoved some cotton in the ear cup. Yes, I didn't try them out that long, but I could still determine they sounded bad. If you like NICE looking headphones, go with the Soul SL100s. Trust me.

    Buyer beware

Bought beats solo hd for my son. He only used them three times and the speaker isn't working. If you get them from best buy, get the warranty because if you don't, you will be out $250! Nobody can help us now and we are stuck with one speaker. Looking online at how many people have the same issue, I would have never bought these. He never blasted his music and this is the reward.

I bought beats and then Sol Republic came out. I thought I got my moneys worth but found out either Sol Republic is crazy or beats just over price their products

    Poorly made

Read reviews about Beats poor quality, but bought them anyway at Best Buy. Now 3 months later they stopped working and according to Best Buy, they have to be sent back to Beats. 4-6 week process according to Beats customer service! Best Buy says they are sorry. Not as sorry as I am. Beats are poor quality and Best Buy customer service is non-existing. So invest in Bose and get good sound, good quality and good customer service.

I wore these for work, detailing, and i wore them for school. they seemed fine and work great until about a month later they started to seem loose on my head and then the third month they broke right down the center of the headband. this wasnt because i stressed them and tryed to break them. they broke as i was trying to put them on my head and my head is pretty small.
