After deciding that I didn't have the coin to drop on the full version of this brand of headphone, I purchased what I assumed would be a quality product. I ended up being disappointed, as I (unfortunately) ended up owning 2 separate pairs of Solos over a period of about 9 months. Both times, the headset broke in the exact same spot along the hinge, on the right side. I wasn't being careless with them at the time, just putting the headset on (in both instances). I also had one pair with a loose left ear-cup, which had to be screwed back on from time to time, which was a minor inconvenience. The good/bad news about all that was: 1) I didn't buy the geek squad protection plan, so I had to use the original warranty (bad news); & 2) i did get the headphones replaced, within a week with no hassle (good news). So, even if you have any problems you should be covered by a pretty decent customer service department, as long as you're still in the warranty period. It wasn't all bad, as my review would imply. Considering my varied musical tastes, I loved the sound that was produced, even though it could be a bit bass heavy at times (although, that was nothing that a little EQ-tweaking couldn't adjust). Plus, throw in the fact that they looked pretty nice, and were pretty comfortable, I figured it would be worth the price I paid for them. All that considered, my recommendation is this: If you've got the extra cash to drop on the full set of Beats, I suggest that you purchase those or go with another brand altogether. Otherwise, you run the risk of dealing with a "good" pair of non-durable, expensive headphones you just may end up replacing.

these headphones are the best i have had that sound this good. they are also really confortable and they arent going to break if you bend them to put them on your head. They are only going to break if your completely stupid and bend them out so the headphones are like parallel to each other. these headphones are a little pricey but i like them alot

We had to return them twice. First I thought it was just those particular headphones we bought, so we returned them. Got another set and the sound quality was still terrible. The sound was very tinty and sounded cheap. We ended up buying Monster headphones. Much better quality and sound.

    Perfect for the casual listeners

For the casual listeners, these headphones are great. Good bass, but the treble in my opinion sounds a bit sub par. These headphones cancel noise out very good, but then the sound leaks out pretty loudly. I heard that the Solo HDs are much more better constructed than the regular Solos, but it still feels a bit flimsy, and that I have this feeling I will break it. Also, if you are wearing these headphones, the wire is exposed, which might pop out if you aren't careful. Check the image I uploaded in the product images section to see what I am talking about. The Solo HDs are pretty comfortable, I even tried sleeping with it on, and it still felt comfortable. The best uses for these headphones is rap, pop, and house/techno/dubstep. I tried metal, but really it doesn't sound good. Pros: Clear Sound Portable Lightweight Stylish Easy to use Cons: Feels a bit flimsy Sound leaks

These are the BEST headphones around. They have great sound quality and especially great bass. The one thing that isn't so great is the price! In my opinion $200 is a little steep for this product. Maybe $150 would be a reasonable price. But aside from that they are great headphones. Hope this helps to future buyers! :D

    Great Headphones

I got these headphones as a Christmas Gift, and I got to say these are awesome headphones. I was skeptical about getting them because of all the negative reviews, but thus far they are awesome. Just like anything out there you have to be careful and gentle with them. The music quality is amazing and seems to work with alot of different types of music. The main selling point is obviously the bass. It is the best thing and what can drive people away. I love my music with bass, but it can be overwhelming if you dont really like it. For the price I think your getting a solid deal. The headphones are top notch, the packaging and the look of them are amazing. I have had no comfort issues with them. Overall these are great headphones, they look well built and if you treat them well I dont see why they would break on you.

I have music of all sorts on my Ipod anywhere from Country to Rap and Classical to Metal i use these every day and they are more durable than what every one says they dont feel good if you dont have them adjusted right. The sound quality is amazing if you want better bass buy the studios. I have owned at least ten pairs of headphones under $100 and i now will not use anything but beats. I have the power beats which are great for working out. I have the beats tour for everyday use in school and stuff. Then i have my solo hd headphones which are for at home and on the bus and they are my favorite

I have to put it out there that im a musician, therefore sound is absolutely important to me. The price tag is reliable and acceptable. You have to give monster and dre credit for trying to give back to music enhancing or improving music for us. Hopefully more artists can contribute. The "b" logo does add about $40 more which i dont mind because the technology thats up to date, For example your remote control attatchment lets you turn up, turn down, skip tracks, and contol talk compatiable with most phones. Keep in mind your buying the headphones for the sound, which is over all great! I have about 3 headphones that were expensive none can be compared to these, for the rich sound that accelerate as you turn up. Yeah they are stylish.. in my area im the only dude sporting the dre's head gear which i think will not be for long now. Bass is balanced for highs and lows. The headphones dont leak. Well worth the buy considering the rich sound quality. Perfect for working out with, so people dont bother you. The down side is the plastic that is known to be breakable apparently... reading the reveiws i would guess but, honestly i think its the customers careless off what they do, i know i'll take care of 200 dollar headphones

    Best Headphones I've owned

Before buying these, I went on youtube to see what people were saying, but realized they were either extremely picky, or were being payed to say exceptional things about the product. I'm a college tennis player, so I'm on the road quite a bit and use these all the time. Here's what you need to know. The sound quality is amazing. The bass on them is very rich and smooth, yet distinguished. I won't get picky with the highs and lows, but they're pretty darn good. I'm hearing things in songs I've never heard. Also, while they aren't "noise cancelling", they still drown out surrounding noise. The one minor problem is that if you use them for several hours on end, like I tend to do on road trips, your ears become sore. But this is easily fixed by giving your ears a break and taking them off for five minutes or so.

I ordered these for my husband as he wanted a high quality pair of headphones to have for his business trips to use on planes and in his hotel rooms. He's been looking at Beats for a while now and always stops to look at them in stores, so I decided to surprise him with a pair. I bought him the red ones. They arrived on Friday, just in time for his next business trip on Monday, and he absolutely loves them. I tried them out for myself and took them with me on my run on Saturday and I'm definitely getting a pair for myself! They are even better than my Bose headphones that I currently have. They actually put my Bose to shame. The HD sound is just beyond incredible and both my husband and I agree that these, by far, have the most superior quality out of all of the headphones we have ever used. If you're looking for a high quality set of headphones for listening to music, watching Netflix, or whatever else you plan to use them for, you can't go wrong with these! They were totally worth every single penny.

    Wonderful Product

These headphones are great and they seem pretty sturdy. With the price like 200 dollars just for headphones, it's pretty hard to give you the value for the price. But these headphones are downright wonderful in sound and i believe it hits perfection in that category. Most people compare this to Bose headphones and are trying to decide which one has better value. I believe that Beats are much better. Although Bose has better ratings than Beats, they have less people rating. Beats are by far more stylish than Bose. If you are a classy person and look forward to a more quaint life, than I would go for Bose. Otherwise, I would stick with Beats. There is also a huge discussion on whether or not the Beats Solo are durable or not. I use my Beats more than enough to know that they are not as fragile as everybody says they are. The way many people describe it make it sound like Beats Solo are made of twigs. To me, they are durable and if not abused, able to last for a couple of years before they start getting rusty and beat up. The Beats Solo also come with a travel case that is used to put your Beats Solo in when not in use. To my experience, I highly recommend that you put your Beats Solo into the case when not in use because if you drop the case with the Beats Solo in it, the Solos have like a .001 percent chance of being the slightest damaged. Another discussed thing is Beats Solo vs. Beats Studios. The Studios are about $300 and I say that just way too much for that product. The Solos are much better in my opinion because the Studios leak and anybody around you can hear exactly what your listening to. Studios are also not sound-proof so if your looking for peace and quietness from your surroundings, they're not the ones. Solos are leak and sound proof. The only problem is that after an hour of wearing them, you have to take them off to air your ears off because the Solos are pressed against you ear unlike the Studios which go around your ears. But overall, this product is wonderful and I do not regret a thing about buying this product.

Sound and bass are great. But after a little while with them on they get very discomforting. Ive droppped mine bent them really far back and they never broke so i was very pleased on durabilty. Maby if it was at 170 it would be more reasonable but other than that the best product ive ever purchased in the headphones catagorie.

    Amazing sound, not so comfortable

The good: The sound is incredible. Deep base with significant high notes. Clarity is beyond belief. Love using these for movies on my laptop as well. I have read some reviews knocking durability and saying the band seems cheap. I disagree. I feel is a solidly produced product. The bad: They are not the most comfortable after extended wear. I wish the phones were just a bit bigger to go more over the ear. The pads push on the top and the lobe of your ear. After about an hour, it starts getting a bit uncomfortable. Overall: Love them, despite the slight comfort issue. Would have been 5 stars but for the comfort issue.
