Noise cancelation and sound clarity are amazing. Works great with my iPhone and Skype on my pc. At first I was skeptical about spending $200 on headphones but they are definitely work the money especially with best buy insurance plan no worries at all your covered.

It has good sound quality and looks REAAALLY cool. However it might be too tight if you wear it for too long.

    Great Sound, A Bit Pricey

These are great headphones. Sound great, fold up nicely. I still think they're very expensive for what you're getting. I can say they have great customer support. We didn't have the cord connected properly, called for support, and someone picked right up, on the weekend, and helped us out. That's rare these days.

I originally bought the solos last year but returned them for fear of headband-gate. After hearing about the new and improved headband on the solo hds, I gave it another go. I wanted so much to keep them bc of their bass response and form factor. They, in my eyes, are the most streamlined looking headphone on the market and the sound quality was lot more brighter than the first release. However, the right side had almost zero bass and played at a much lower volume than the left. Also, when I would press the right cup against my ear, it would shut off completely. Two pairs, same problem. Of course I made sure it wasnt just earwax in my right ear, I did test it the other way around. I couldve exchanged it a 2nd time, but then the vmoda m80s were released. 10x better in overall sound quality but without the beats portabilty. I guess something has to give, in that regard.

I originally received the original Solo headphones for my birthday because they were on sale but when I read that the Solo HDs were the new product and more durable I exchanged them and paid the difference. I didn't really notice a sound difference though. These are the best sounding headphones I have ever had. I mostly just use these at work and although they aren't noise canceling like the studios are, I can never hear anyone else. Although, if I don't turn the music down when someone comes over, the music is really loud. The only complaint I have is that they do squeeze my head and ears a little bit. When I wear glasses my ears get pretty sore because my glasses are getting pushed against my head. Overall this is a very good product and I could have gone with the studios but didn't like the style or the fact that they require a battery.

    The Honest Truth

These are fine if you listen to nothing but extremely bass filled music and want to make a fashion statement. They look great and place a lot of emphasis on the bass, which is rich. If you only care about looks and bass, and listen to nothing but bass-heavy rap, you can't go wrong with these. For everybody else, these aren't a good buy. The bass is very muddy and it's drowns out mids, and the highs are very recessed. They feel VERY cheap, and the build quality is on par with a fifteen dollar pair of headphones. The plastic feels cheap. These also leak a LOT of sound, so everybody will know what you're listening to. I really think you should consider trying other headphones in this price range and comparing them to beats, so you can pick which one you like the best. Here are some great ones to consider- Audio-Technica M50- Famous for being the one of the best closed-ear headphones under two hundred dollars. ( They cost one hundred and fourty dollars on amazon. ) Great bass that isn't muddy, punchy, balanced sound, excellent build quality and comfort. These are the beats alternative for people who want a headphone that can play a lot of genres really well, instead of being limited to playing bass heavy rap. Sony V6- For those who want to spend a bit less. They cost less than one hundred dollars ( About seventy dollars on amazon ) These have balanced sound, but they don't put extra emphasis on bass. They also have incredibly detailed sound, you will hear things you never heard before. These also have one of the best build qualities, period. They last for years, many have had them for over 15 years. If you are a musician, these are one of the best headphones you can buy thanks to it's flat, detailed sound. Audio Technica AD-700- Want maximum sound quality for your money? Get these. Be warned that these are the kind of headphones you only use at home or with friends, they are like mini-speakers, they leak EVERYTHING you listen to. These have extraordinary soundstage ( you can hear the drums to your right, the singer in the center, like being in the studio. ) They have phenominal sound that is detailed and natural. However, do NOT buy these if you have a small head. They cost about one hundred dollars. These wipe the floor with ANYTHING by dr.dre, even the beats Pro. ( Assuming you listen to a variety of music, not just super-bassy music. ) In a nutshell- They are good for bass and looks. Try other headphones so you can get your personal favorite

I started out with Solo Beats. Then, I decided to give those to my little brother, so I went and bought Solo HD's. I went through 3 pair before I received the same sound quality that I had in the original Solo's. The bass wasn't as deep, and the sound wasn't as loud. I love my Beats though!! I can tell that these are made in better quality, but I still bought the service plan! -NK

I love these head phones. I can hear the beat a lot better and I would recommend it. They have many different sizes and colors. I purchased the solo because I did not need the larger pair. If you enjoy listening to music these are the head phones to get, everything is so much clearer!

    Great sound; horrible comfort

I've owned and used these headphones for about 6 months now. I was reluctant to spend so much on headphones but I had a bunch of gift cards that I needed to use up. First, the sound quality on these bad boys is AMAZING. Crystal clear and made all of my music sound great. I thought the whole "Dr Dre" thing was hype to get a higher sticker price out of these but based on sound alone they are well worth it. Second, and the worst part about these headphones and why I would never buy them again, they are NOT comfortable. I wear these for hours at work (or at least I try to until they start to hurt) and after about an hour or so the part that goes across the top of your head HURTS. There is very little padding there and after awhile it just gives you a headache. VERY poor design for such an expensive set of headphones. Seriously, it may not sound like a big deal but if you are looking for a set of headphones to wear and listen to music for more than an hour at at time, LOOK ELSEWHERE and find some with better padding and comfort across the part that goes over your head. After about an hour I unfortunately need to take these off because it hurts my head so bad. Whatta shame because I could leave them on all day with the awesome sound that they produce. But that means nothing if they are not comfortable.

Great step up from the original solos

These are a great step-up from the original solos for 180. The solos had to much muffley bass that overpowers the music and the sound quality wasnt that good for 180 and wasnt balanced at all. Solo HDs are way more balanced and they are only 20$ more. Definately get the hds over the originals!

Comfortable, good sound range (for the price), but still a bit bulky for travel. So far, between my noise cancelling: Bose (over ear, as well as buds), Sony, Shure, Klipsch, and Beats, these are my preferred for quality. Just wish they traveled more easily!!
