Great while it last
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. On my second pair first was replaced under warranty, Second set doesn't last either. 6-8 months life span on both sets. They both eventually start cutting out on the left ear wear the sound jack is. Monster/Beat customer service is a joke. They are impossible to deal with. Make sure not to discard, lose, or misplace the original box and receipt. Even though they have a serial # its completely worthless as they don't track their product with it. Not a bad buy if you purchase a replacement plan with the retailer. I am usually against extra replacement plans but it is a must have if you have your heart set on these and $200 a year isn't in your budget.

great Head phones...we purchased them for $99.00
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We love the headphones...my only problem is that when we plug the cord in you only get sound out of 1 of the ear phones unless you move the cord around until it puts sound in both ear phones...is this right or are mine defective?

What a let down, all around.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I expected a $200 set of headphones would sound better. There is a ton of base but not much on the high end and what does come through doesn't sound clear as you would think it should. I bought these at the Las Vegas airport from a Best Buy express vending machine, kinda as an impulse buy, because my little iPhone ear buds just weren't cutting it on the loud plane. I have heard of the Beats brand and hear that they are some of the best around. I saw that they had 3 versions of "over the ear" headphones (* I will explain why I put over the ear in quotes later) and thought that even though the Solo ones were the cheapest, they are still gonna be way better than what I am used to. WRONG!!! Although they had better base response, over all they sounded like cheap junk. The high end was completely muffled, and almost missing entirely. * (They are not over the ear headphones, they are on ear. I passed up cheaper Bose on ear headphones because I thought that these were over the ear, meaning that they would rest against my head, but nope they sit on your ear just like the Bose.) So I ended up not using them on my flight back and used my stock iPhone buds. Here is the big problem though. Once I got home and opened the automatic email that contained my receipt, I see that there is basically no return policy. It says that they only return unopened product, or defective product. I am sure that this is because people will basically "rent" the items they want and once they get home return them. The thing is, I still want a good set of true over the ear head phones, just not these. I am pretty sure that the people at the customer service line are not gonna help. But I will give it a try anyways, wish me luck.

Not very good value for its price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Before purchasing these, I looked at a lot of reviews online and a lot of them said the same thing: The headband snaps easily, even with normal use. Sure enough, 7 months in, after being extra careful with how I use them, the headband snapped. So far Monster has been very nice about it, but expect them to break. I hate to say it, but if you don't want to be without headphones for about a week, get the Best Buy protection insurance.

Good sound, but horrible durability
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had these headphones for a little over 24 hours and they are broken already. I simplyu dropped them and the right ear peice fell from the headband and pulled the wire out of the headset. Over all they have amazing sound quality and nearly un-blowable speakers. still not impressed at ALL with the durablity.

Grossly overpriced
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's amazing what marketing, celebrity endorsements, and ignorant friends can do to one's opinion of something. I challenge you to read this article, and then go try some other headphones and tell me that anything by Beats is a good value. http://audioproheadphone.blogspot.com/2012/08/headphone-popularity.html

Not worth the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Beats are a little overpriced for what you get. The sound leaks out of them and there are many different headphones that are better for cheaper or same price.

Great for beginners.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I liked it, since these are my first headphones, and i recommend it for anyone starting off with something small. Its not comfortable for me, but again maybe its just me. These were smaller than i thought.

good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is great set of headphones for anyone. They sound kinda good. Not really they second just a little bit better than standard apple headphones. If apple headphones want over your head, these would be identical. They cannot use the buttons on the headphones for android phones. Also only after fifteen minutes they start hurting your ears. I expected a lot more sound quality from a pair of headphones That cost two hundred dollars. So i will be returning these in the morning.

Decent if you don't mind sound leaking badly.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. From a Dr. Dre fan who enjoys the music that Dre produces and raps in I can't say that I am a fan of these headphones. Marketed very well and having a nice design is great, however decent sound quality and sound leakage so bad that even when the volume is turned up a little past half-way everyone in the same room as you can hear the music clear as day isn't so good. Sound quality is good but not much greater than the quality of $39.99 ear buds. They have a great look but feel cheaply made and easily breakable. Control talk is great, being able to talk and pause songs and increase/decrease volume by simply hitting buttons on the cord is cool. These are a very comfortable headphone that really have great cushioning and feel. I hate to say that the best thing about these headphones is that you can get your money back even after opening them as long as you have your reciept. I believe that the price of these headphones should be no more than $79.99 because the sound isn"t all that superior and they just leak way too much sound, I wore them on a plane ride and I had the volume at 1 click over half-way and was eventually told by the flight attendent to turn down my music, how EMBARASSING! I don't like to be a hater but the Beats Solo HD by Dr. Dre headphones leak way to much sound and are not that superior sounding either. Don"t get me wrong they sound great especially the bass but they do not sound $160 better than your average ear buds. They are very comfy and look great but feel very cheaply made and the glossy finish attracts many fingerprints. Bottom line is if you don't mind overpaying for these headphones and you dont mind everyone around you being able to hear every word of your music then these are for you. There is no doubt that you will like the way they feel and look so if you dont mind the sound leakage then these headphones are a decent buy for you.

Good sound, bad quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've bought these headphones about a year ago and they've broken twice. one time from a blown left speaker, and another time because my friend simply bumped into my headphones. there was a squeak in them for a long time whenever they moved. I have the 2 year warranty and am very happy i got the warranty. The bass in the headphones is awesome but i wouldn't recommend buying these. maybe some sennheisers, bose, or skullcandys. but don't buy these, they won't last.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm pleased with the quality of these Beats heaphones. Not sure if I would have paid full price but at $79, they are great. A little more bass and I would have gone to full 5 stars.

Great product, but not cheap
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to exchange this item at the store and the only downfall was that the store did not have any black ones left, so had to settle for a white pair. But otherwise happy with them,

They're Ok!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I went to best buy, I was dead set on buying the solo hds. I talked to a few people that worked there. One employee said stay away from beats, terrible quality and construction, and its just as fashion statement and metal and plastic? worst combo ever. Another employee said that she had the new purple justbeats and they sound really good and look awesome. she said just slide them over your head so you don't break them. well, the one guy got another guy to tell me the same thing. I went ahead and bought them anyways. The sound quality was amazing, it was clear, i had never heard my music like this. So saying that you can find cheap headphones at walmart that sound better are lies. I hated having to be so careful and scared of breaking them so i rarely used them. where the hinges are, they get weaker and weaker, and looser. So they start easily collapsing which isn't good. When you walk with them on your head, and I don't have a small head, the earcups rattle and its annoying and messed up. I NEVER broke mine. I was so careful that I kept them in tact. I sold them on ebay and they're happy with them now. They're not worth your money.

waste of money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are definatly good headphones but the fact that best buy charges 200$ for them is one of the worst parts. The actual website charges only 170$ for them. My least favorite part about them is how well the held together. In the first month I bough them the entire ear piece came off. After i had found out that the warranty doesn't really cover anything at all i super glued them back together. Most recently the other ear piece came off. The headphones are way to high maintenance for the price. Friends have actually came to me and asked me if they should purchase this product and my answer was a definite NO!! If I could go back in time I would have bought Bose or at the very least... skull andys. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT.

Overpriced, Badly Built
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are headphones are not a good pair of headphones. People who buy these headphones buy them because they want Beats but are too cheap to buy Studios. I will go over three major parts in this review to tell you why you should buy headphones from a company known for doing audio, not CABLES. Sound These sound decent. They are much more balanced than the regular Solos. The mids and highs are definitely clearer on these headphones than on the regular Solos. The bass is definitely less, but still enough. Still for $200 these are a complete rip-off. Comfort/Fit These are pretty comfortable. They are on-ear, but the earcups are very soft and plush. You could definitely wear these for a few hours without excruciating pain to your ears. The fit is quite good, since they are very small and light they stay on your head relatively securely without them moving around too much. Build As with pretty much all "designer" headphones these have horrible build quality. The hinges are plastic and start getting loose after only about a month of use. The extenders are a bit too stiff and feel badly designed as well. The plastic on the outside of the headband feels cheap and all the materials just feel very budget and cheap. I would expect better build quality even for a $50 pair of headphones. Very poor. Overall I think that these headphones deliver decent sound and are quite portable, but who spends $200 on something that will last only a few months? If you do, go buy a pair of Solo HDs. I have warned you.
