    Why?

Let me start by saying I have not actually purchased these headphones. I have really tried to give these a try. I have spent hours reading reviews on different sites. I have tried really hard to justify this purchase. I have gone to 3 different Best Buy stores trying to check these out. They were all broken. Either broken at the headset or I could only hear from one side. The one side I could hear from didn't sound that good. And they were uncomfortable for the few minutes I had them on. Everyone keeps saying, "buy the warranty". Buying the warranty for electronics is a very responsible thing to do, but buying the warranty to justify the purchase is out right SILLY! If buying the warranty makes this trash product a good buy then there is something wrong. How does paying $20 extra for something that more than likely will break make buying junk OK?

    Absolute Garbage

These headphones are garbage. They have slow, muddy, bloated, one-note bass, a dry, unnatural midrange, and almost no treble whatsoever. Horribly congested, almost no separation whatsoever. Soundstage is tiny and imaging is poor. Detail retrieval is poor. Bass is so bloated and unbalanced with the mids and treble that it masks and obscures what little detail they do convey. Completely plastic construction. Cabling is decent, but overall build is atrocious. Ridiculously overpriced. You are paying $40 for the headphones, and the rest is for the Beats name. Audio Technica ATH-M50 completely stomps these and every other headphone in the Beats line at around $150.

We bought these headphones for our son ...Christmas 2012. I have to say, they are the most stylish headphone we've ever seen, nice colors available. However that killer price was almost a deal breaker, but we decided to get them anyway.** Trying these headphones at the display in the store is one thing, you get the real sound quality when you get them home. You can hear sound outside of the headphone, so everyone can hear what you're playing, also the person with them on can still hear you. The quality of sound was not good either, sounded not much better than my under $20 headphone I've had for years. I hope this review helps protential buyers.

Beats headphones are just fashion accessories for teenagers. Before buying any headphones, you should read this: http://bit.ly/beatsDre Ever wonder why you never see these being used in recording studios? Radio stations? Or why Beats (and Bose) are only sold in department stores and not in high end audio stores? Are Beats better than the $20 headphone you're used to? Certainly. Are they a good value and the best headphone for the money? Definitely not. If you've never heard a $200 pair of Sennheisers or Sony MDB7506 then you don't know what you're missing. Quite frankly, why do you see teenagers glowing over these things? Because they've never heard what high end headphones are supposed to sound like. Do yourself a favor and test drive some brands and models mentioned in the article above before buying anything.

This product breaks very easily and is not manufactured to withstand daily use. I really doubt they did much quality/longevity testing with this product. My daughter had hers for less than 3 weeks before the hinge broke. The same thing happened with one of her friends so now they get to use duct tape to hold it together. Going online to see if there was a method of repair I quickly became disenchanted by all the various issues being encountered with this device. You would think for $200-$300 you would be getting a quality product, but guess again. I thought it was a fad and a horrible purchase when she bought them, but she had to have the "cool" product. I tried to talk her into Bose...I wish I would have been successful.

I don't normally write reviews but I thought I should in this case... These are not worth the money at all. I bought a pair of these and they broke within a week. This is a very common problem for this model. I bought a pair of sony headphones at walmart for 20 bucks and they sound just as good as these ones and they are way better built! The sound quality is pretty good on the beats but they do not hold up to everyday use.

    Cheaply Made

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

My beats started off great, until the ear buds started to casually pop off. Then the band padding started to peel off, and eventually the cord started to fray. And don't think that I mistreated these. I kept very good care of these beats but they are not meant for everyday use, or at least they are not durable enough. If you want to purchase these beats, purchase a warranty. For their price, these headphones should not be so cheaply made.

I had a VERY bad experience with a pair of Solo/purple beats I purchased for our 15 year old Daughter last June in recognition of a good year in school. They lasted exactly two weeks and then broke in half! If you look at reviews all over he web (Amazon, etc.) this was NOT an isolated event. As other reviewers here have noted, this overpriced "swag" is very poorly made and the warranty/service is a complete farce. I also own many BOSE products and when I had a problem with their Quiet Comfort phones a couple of years ago, I called them and they shipped me a new pair OVERNIGHT, telling me to send the others back when I got the new ones. That is the difference between a quality company and one pretending to be. Like $300 sneakers, it's all smoke and mirrors that kids can't see through. But Beats and Monster are assured of eventually losing their market share as their audience grows up and realizes what real quality (like Apple) is all about. BUYERS BEWARE! BE SURE AND GET A WARRANTY FROM BB on ANY BEATS YOU BUY!

Bought this pair from a local Best Buy store. The plastic hinge where the ear pieces fold out broke within a month. Best Buy kindly replaced them for a new pair. Hoping we have better luck with this pair.

    Beat's are all hype....

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Beat's are only good for rap and dubstep. Any other type of music sounds like complete garbage. They use Dr. Dre as a selling point and they say that they are used by professionals. I do audio engineering and I can tell you that these are garbage in every way other than the bass. Vocals didn't sound natural. They feel cheap and my friend had a pair of these exact same ones and they broke after 2 months, and he didn't use them often. If you want good headphones for $200 that are actually worth $199 get the Sennheiser 380HD Pro's or the 280HD's for $99. These Beat's are only worth, maybe, $50 at the very most. People that think these are awesome are buying into Monster's BS advertising. Dr. Dre (I bet) laughs at how poorly these are made. If you are looking for perfect headphones for vocals; go with AKG.

These are overpriced for the Sound Quality

These headphones have very, very muddy lows. There may be a lot of bass, but if the clarity of them is trash then it does not matter. The roll off is crazy and there are many other cans out there for a much lower price. If you go to head-fi.org you can read reviews on the headphones that these songs were recorded on, so that you can hear it like they did in the studio. This review is also for Bose and Skullcandy especially. 1. Look up Head-fi.org and read some posts. (Read some Beats reviews by actual studios. They aren't pretty.) 2. Look up the Audio-Technica M50s on Head-fi.org and find a good seller who sells them for close to a hundred dollars. 3. Buy and review. 4. I promise you that you will not be dissapointed. Other Headphones to look at are Audio-technica AD700 100 dollars Sennheiser 555 100 dollars Hifiman re0 -For in ear. 69 dollars Amazon. you can also pick these up at your local bestbuy most likely.
