Left ear speaker never works

So 50% of the time I go to use and left speaker does not work

I had gifted him some old beats awhile ago, but they finally gave out. The others had the wire connecting the two so I decided to upgrade him to these! I purchased on sale for $150 and I think they’re of great value! He uses them every day after work with his laptop to watch YouTube! He also takes them to work sometimes for music!
