Charging problems and severe reaction to ear area

    Posted .

While the sound was great, these were frustrating. Often only one side worked, so I would have to re-pair several times to get both sides working. Battery started to lose charge efficiency after a few months, which corresponded with when both of my ears, inside and out began to have severe reactions, which included clear fluid leaking from ears and skin peeling and itching. Discontinued use and tried again when ears were better and 10 minutes of wear initiated reaction again. Several wearers have reported the same, as discussed on Apple Forum.

I have 2 pair, charging problems ALL the time…every time I have to guess, did both charge? Disappointed very much….not real comfortable over a long workout either. Like to walk and on long walks they become uncomfortable…

Worked great for 1 year. Then the charging case sometimes won’t recognize the left or the right, which leads to having to blow a ton of time fiddling with each headphone trying to get them to connect and constantly checking your phone to see if they are finally going to charge. It would be better if after the manufacturers warranty if they just blew to pieces because this constant waste of time is maddening. I’d recommend any other similar product, because anything for this amount of money should last longer than 1 year.

These sound fine but the case is bulky and they constantly lose contact with the charging tabs. Need to constantly check to make sure they are charging. Awful design.

Trust me -- Don't do it

These headphone actively ruin my runs and completely kill my buzz when I generate the energy to go for a run . The majority of the time they won't connect, or when they do, only one does. You might be thinking "yeah, but they are cool!"...That is what I thought, and yes it was cool when I first opened them, but there is no question I regret my decision to buy them. I don't think I have ever left a review for a product, bc I think leaving reviews are hype, but here I am trying to help you avoid the same mistake I did.

    Android users don't buy

I bought a pair from Apple and have had them for little over a month now. As an Android user, we are unable to see the battery life of the ear buds and I've gotten use to plugging them in to charge every 3rd day. However there have been several times now that I've only gotten a day and a half on a charge, or one of the 2 buds didn't even charge over night. For the huge $250 price tage Apple should have all the features available to all users, especially the battery life of the unit. They are also constantly breaking out of sterio while listening to podcasts.

“Water resistant” but water damage voids warrantee

“Water resistant” Powerbeats Pros: water damage voided the warrantee. Apple sent them for repair but wanted $99 because there was water damage. Sent in my “water resistant” Powerbeats Pros from the Apple Store for repair. Yes, they’ve been rained on. I expected that and bought them thinking “water resistant” would cover rain. Word from Apple is the warrantee is voided because of water damage. These have never been submerged. The charging case has hardly even gotten wet.

    Sadly disappointing

I’m not sure if I received a dud or what, but these headphones have disappointed me. Let me explain my issues. 1. They give me a really hard time when connecting to the Bluetooth of my phone. I have to go into the settings and reconnect and search for the headphone signal literally every time I use them. I know it’s not my phone because my phone easily connects easily to various Bluetooth speakers throughout my house (and these are all different brands). 2. Secondly, these do not stay on my ears. They fit pretty weird actually. I have purchased cheap head phones which fit better but just broke too fast. 3. The earbud covers continuously pop off. I am equally rough with all of my electronics and again, my cheaper, low quality headphones did not do this. I have never had the experience of having to change my earbud covers this much. It’s at the point where I have run out of replacement earbuds - and they send a bunch of different sizes in the box! I’ve never experienced this with any other pair of headphones, ever. And when the covers fall off, the earbud plastic hurts. 4. The charge is pathetic. I mean seriously, for a name brand product, why in the world do these run out of battery power so quickly?! Then, they do not recharge quickly. If I don’t keep them on the charger all night, then I will not get a full 8 hours of use the next day. Even then, after 24 hours of not being charged NOR being used, the battery goes dead. This was my first pair of Beats anything. I didn’t buy them for the marketing side of the Beats brand, but for what I expected to be a quality product. I expected them to be more durable, more comfortable, and more efficient in ease of use. I expected to join the tribe of “Beats” fans. Ha! Was I let down. What I got was a $60 pair of uncomfortable, poor quality, glitchy, and less than optimal battery life headphones. I didn’t expect top notch state of the art headphones for this price-point, but I did expect them to atleast do what they said they would do. Based on the other reviews, most people have had great experiences with them. Unfortunately this wasn’t the case for me. These frustrate me so much that I don’t even care about charging them anymore and I will just go without music during excruciating periods of time where I really need music. I was literally about to buy a pair of headphones from the gas station the other day. I’m just going to go buy me some old-fashioned Apple EarPods (Not AirPods) and deal with the wires for now. Maybe I’ll try Sony next because I had the same Bluetooth connectivity issue and charging time issues with JBL in-ear headphones.

Worst headphones i have ever owned. And of course best buy said they were no longer offering there warranty. Nonway to know if headphones are actually connected to charger, individually on earbud, if you open app you can see if they are charging, but if case mives the slightest bit, headphone quits charging and turns on i. The case. I ha r owned these for 5 months and have only been able to use both headphones about 4 times. When i open case and try to use them either both or one is completely dead. Rediculous waste of money do not buy.. absolute junk....

Worse headphones ever, nothing but problems from the get go. Do not buy them, Bestbuy won’t warranty them and Apple care is crap protection. They are not sweat/water resistant. I’ve already replaced them once and about to have to replace them again. The headphones eventually stop pairing and will not play. Spend multiple minutes waisted attempting to re since etc.

I bought PowerBeats Pro wireless headphones in 04/2020. They worked great for a good two years. But in the last few months, the powerBeats Pro randomly shuts down while in use even though they have battery available, this happens within minutes of using the headphones almost 3-5 min. When i plugging them into the charging case shows one of the earbuds battery level at 55% (exactly), while the other one stays in the 80% range. I would recommend these headphones if you want to again purchase new headphones after two years. If not I would continue shopping around.

    Charging issues

I don't know why beats made the ear hooks and the case different shapes. If your ear is not the curvature, the buds will not charge. 90% of the time only one side will charge. When I take out the charged side, only then will the other side start to charge. I mean I must be crazy to be using both earbuds at the same time. it's like buying a pair of shoes but only able to wear one shoe at a time. Really disappointed in purchasing these at full price when they came out.
