I purchased these for use in the gym, but first tried the Powerbeats2 (PB2) headphones. When I realized the battery life wasn't near as good, I decided to step up to the PB3's. While I'm not normally a fan of Beats products, these headphones are a wonderful product for use in the gym, or anywhere where having a quality wireless setup is essential. The sound quality tends to be a little bass-heavy, but an EQ on your phone works for cleaning up the signal to your personal preference. The fitment, with both the in-ear and over-ear components stays in place for nearly everything, including running, elliptical, cycling, etc. I have yet to find a headphone design that works as well as the PB3. On the other hand, for the price, there are some shortcomings. First, the case included in the PB3 box is a joke. They downgraded from the PB2 zipper case to a cheap, flimsy silicone case. At this price point, a padded protective case shouldn't even be a question. Second, the power button feels poor, compared to the PB2. The button should provide a more tactile 'click' when depressed to allow for eyes-free power on/off of the unit. Lastly, and not a major gripe, but worth noting, the in-ear portion of the headphones doesn't adequately provide noise reduction. This can be easily fixed by a set of $15 Comply earbud cushions (The T-400 fits these).

I started off with the Apple AirPods, but like so many, I have issues with the earbuds staying in my ears. Odd shaped ears? Sloppy surface? Poorly designed? Not sure. I do know, however, that after picking up the Powerbeats 3, I will be seeking my AirPods. The sound is great, they are a comfortable fit with 4 choices for ear fit, and exceptional battery life. The ear hooks seem a tad to high over my ear, but turning them slight over my ear fits them better. My only knock would be the cheap rubber case, but not a deal breaker at all. Worthy purchase.
