Much better than the initial version

On that version, what appears to be some type of rubber material covering the control mechanism, it "rubbed" away on the "+" volume control thereby making it inoperable. That material is not used on this version, it's plastic instead. The plastic doesn't feel robust but I certainly expect it to last longer than the above mentioned. Sound quality is good, maybe an "uptick" also from the first version.

The first pair was purchase approximately 1.5 years ago as a Christmas gift for my daughter. She loves and uses them daily and they are still going strong. I purchased them as a raffle gift most recently and everyone participating wanted them and thought they were a great gift idea. I'm not sure why I have not purchased a pair for myself. Maybe someone will gift a pair to me!
