Don’t purchase these headphones less than a year usage. The cushion adhesive separated from the base. I returned them to Apple who informed me that my four year forcefully pull the cushion adhesive off. How is that possible they are sealed around the back to the base. There are no signs of damage to the headphone nor cushion simply the adhesive coming loose. Very disappointed with Apple and this product. I owned several other beats headphones none of them the adhesive has ever come off but this one it did. Don’t accuse small children for a manufacture defect

Build Quality: I don’t feel like these headphones have a “pro” quality feel to them. When I look at the price of an item and the naming they used for the item as well as having experience with other items in the same category, I just don’t feel a strong quality build for something that is carrying a “pro” tag. They feel somewhat flimsy. The headphone adjustment on the right side seems stronger than the adjustment on the left side which worries me in the sense that they may wear out over time making adjustments quite difficult to stay in place.
Noise Cancellation: The noise cancellation is good but the adjustment of the noise cancellation I seem to be battling. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m using an android phone with the android beats app but there appears to be 3 noise cancellation modes on this set. 1.) Noise cancelling on – 2.) Noise cancelling off – and 3.) Transparency. I honestly can’t tell much of a difference between the transparency and noise cancelling on modes. It could be user error, or it could be defect but I tried this evening while I was cooking to turn on “transparency” (it was on in the app) but still could not hear my wife when she was talking to me. This to me makes it seem like noise cancellation is either on or off. No in between; Which one would expect an in between or some sort of other mode in a “pro” model set.
Battery Life: I can’t comment much on battery life as I have not put these through any sort of battery stress test. I listened to them for a couple hours after a full charge and they are currently sitting at 97% which is pretty good. I would need a more thorough battery test to give a hard number as to how long they last. I did notice on my phone there is a message stating “The beats app is running BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) in the background to connect to your Beats instantly.” I’m not sure if this is an adjustable feature from within the app or not but I will need to monitor the battery life on my phone given I am seeing a message about the app continuously running in the background in “some sort of mode”.
Features: I think this may be where the Solo “pros” are lacking. There really isn’t any features with this set. Some sets have a lift cup pause audio, or a cover cup pause audio. This set has a fold to power off feature which I just don’t find that useful. Most other “premium” sets auto shut off after a certain amount of time. I have also never been really found of folding headphones. I feel like they add a less premium feel to the build and the feature is not largely desired. At least not for me. It would have been nice to have built in some sort of instant pause feature like lifting a cup or covering a cup for pass-through noise cancellation. I mean after all this is supposed to be a “pro” set of headphones.
Comfort: This is my second pair of “on the ear” vs “over the ear” headphones and I have to say these do sit more comfortably on my head then the previous. They tend to hurt my ears after prolonged use but I figure if your purchasing “on the ear” headphones then you are aware they may become uncomfortable after a few hours of sitting on your ears. I prefer over the ear headphones and I’m not sure what advantages “on the ear” sets have over “over the ear” sets. I need to do my research but I still prefer to have an over the ear headset so my ears don’t get fatigued. This isn’t a negative in any way regarding this set as it is designed to be over the ear its just my opinion. But as far as an “over the ear” comfort level this is by far the best I have experienced yet.
Volume Level and Sound: This is probably my biggest negative downside to this set and I wish I had an iPhone or some other means of connecting to it to test this out. On my pixel 3 XL, the volume is limited. I can only go so high (which isn’t very loud). To be honest, it may be a safety feature but I prefer to listen to my music like 1-3 steps above what these don’t seem to go beyond. I have tried to manipulate this by adjusting volume levels on my phone and on the headphones but it seems like there may be a hard limit on just how loud these can go. The sounds quality is “just OK” the bass is lacking in a pair of “pro” headphones. I find the tones crisp and light and missing bass. If these were the regular beats and not labeled a “pro” set I could understand. But having a set of “pro” headphones regardless of the build quality, regardless of the way they feel on your head, should at least produce a “pro” sound. And these just plain don’t.
App: I don’t really see a need to download the app on Android as there is nothing other than pairing instructions, usage instructions, and a way to adjust the noise cancellation. There are no eq settings which is quite disappointing. There is no reason for me to ever open the app as even adjusting the noise cancellation features doesn’t seem to register sometimes on the headset.
Overall Opinion: My overall opinion is this headset has a lackluster build quality as well as sound and a lack of features compared to similar headphones in its class and price range. I wanted to love these but I don’t. I consider these as more of an entry level pair of headphones as opposed to the “pro” label. I don’t think the price justifies the build, feature, and sound quality of this set.

These are absolutely horrible now. The earcup covers are completely worn. That started earlier than previous models. Theres feedback like static or rattling in one of the earcups. I bought apple care, because I had problems with a previous set of beats headphones I bought. Before apple was good about replacing them, not anymore. I would never, EVER buy beats headphones again after these experiences.

This is usage impression of Beats Dr Dre Solo Pro Pharrell’s More Matte Collection with iPhone
First impression of the headphone on hand felt solid structure in every aspect of it. Its ear cup cover material is smooth leather alike and strong that fits well on the ear and probably due to slim flexibility of how they are attached to the main frame allowing adapt to different angle.
Unfolding and folding it is smooth transition and despite of its size doesn’t feel heavy and bulky.
Regarding physical controls, it follow the principle of minimalist as all of Apple product. Controls of Volumes, Play etc can be performed via pressing effortlessly the outside cover of ear cup on one side. On the other side has only one button to control the noise cancellation attributes to block, unblock or turn off at all.
It come with carrying case made of soft fabric, which is flexible and has small attachment for screwlock that come with the package. Regarding the case material, probably it depend on each person preference, but the case does’t protect enough if being squeezed in between hard objects in the backpack for instance, but it is flexible and ligher than traditional hard case.
Its detailed functionality is quite close to description from apple dr Dre site (https://www.beatsbydre.com/support/how-to/set-up-and-use-solo-pro).
Setting is mostly limited to the pairing that automatically happen with iPhone without any manual steps.
Now, to the core of headphone, the sound. Being non specialized audiophile, listening is immersive in a sense you feel being close to the performance that the sound does surround your mindset. Two listening executed. First listening of streaming of the live performance of Billie Eilish on Apple Music, in which her voice felt as next to live in person while instruments playing around. Second song stored in the phone listening concert of U2 singing Bullet the blue Sky featuring BB King, in which listening takes to different level in recording room feeling as can feel the mix of drum, guitar and both voice clearly while behind the multitude repeat.
Then for listening experience, spent more than couple of hours while mixing between news and music while working. In this regard, as prolonged usage, my ear felt strong pressure causing some level of pain. Probably this is due to the type of headphone as experienced similar pain with same kind but with different brand. But still with Solo Pro I had to move bit frequently.
Regarding noise cancelling, it is controlled with one tiny button sitting purely lonely at bottom of one of ear cup. Pressing it once then again do the off/on function. The noise cancellation seems to work quite well, can’t fell people coming and going, auto driving, doors opening/closing. However, for instance in a case of a mature person speaking lowed while two kids talking and playing at about 25 feet from listening position, noise cancelling worked but still could hear some voices, It was like being in the crowded swimming pool and when being under water can hear some still but not clearly.
What felt come short, probably this is not exclusive tot he headphone, instead is about the integration between iPhone and Headphone, the control of headphone via iPhone is bit cumbersome. While listing, controlling musing and volume from phone is strategy forward via Apple Music and Song being played. However, for control of noise cancelling, have to enter to Settings>General>Bluetooth>Connected Solo Pro info, then from there can control its different mode.
Then although I could not use the feature of Share Audio, it doesn’t allow to play simultaneously with non Apple headphone while connected to the phone.
Using Siri was straight forward for the short number of use case I did. Like “Siri play song name xyz from my library” and was precise response. “Siri what is my latest email” and wasn’t the optimal response but good enough. “Siri reply to email” and was surprisingly precise on this one. Activating Siri is tapping the control, wasn’t complicated at all.
Among many little things of its functionality that I liked, it is the control itself that are minimalistic that doesn’t interfere with overall H/W design, functional still and mechanical through pressure of buttons, and not made of sensor that work as touch or slide over the surface. I consider this big benefit as I noticed in other brand with touch base control what happen is accidentally as move arm while listening on sofa or so and touch control which change volume, or turn off etc.
Rating and recomendation given based on the quality of sound.
Attached photo of unpacking and paring on the phone process.

Aesthetically beautiful, sturdy headphones but...

Highlights:
Overall, these are a great set of headphones - with some minor flaws. Battery life does exceptionally well. Ear cups feel just right—not too squishy nor elastic-like rubber to make your ears sweat. A sturdy headband with a leather like exterior and a squishy gel type insert feel exceptionally well.
Now for the nitpicking—the flaws. The audio passthru is rather mild. Low bass, compared to other sets in the same price range, these don’t have much depth to the bass. Seemingly low decibel speakers. Rather tight around the head/ears (although I suspect this will eventually fix itself with use).
Do note, none of the flaws mentioned should be considered deterrents across the board for everyone. They’re more centered around specific music tastes/physical features of each individual. I’ll explain in more detail below.
Cons:
First in terms of bass and overall sound. These have very high tones and hit all the mid range just fine but miss, for lack of a better word, the “punch” from the bass. I feel these do exceptionally well with jazz, trance, classical, soundscapes, some dubstep, country, rock, orchestral, and anything that falls within that range. Hip hop, rap, R&B, techno, or anything that carries heavy bass tones feels off.
Next on to audio passthru. This, or at least in my experience with other products, should adjust with the current volume level. With the beats solo pro, it doesn’t adjust.
If you set the volume for say 20% you get about 15% passthru audio - it’s noticeably lower. When you push the volume up to 65% for example, passthru seems to linger in the 15% - 20%.
So when you bring up the volume it always overpowers the ambient sounds from your surroundings. In my testing I was sitting in the living room with the volume around halfway when my roommate tried talking to me. I couldn’t hear him at all sitting a few feet away. If I pause the music and touch the mic on the base of the headset I get the rubbing sound from the mic. I then took it one step further, doing the same rubbing on the mic I adjusted the volume on my phone to about 10% while still paused. Then adjusted to 100% and got the same result. A for effort, F for execution.
In terms of sound volume, these seem rather low. I wish I could offer a better comparison/explanation to this but lack the means of measuring decibel ratings. However, for the sake of explanation. If I for example grab a competitor set and set the volume to 100% that physically hurts in the ears. These are more tolerable and don’t instantly hurt.
NOW with that said, I DON’T ENCOURAGE anyone to actually try that. It’s the best means of explanation I can come up with.
Now, as I previously mentioned. The headband is quite sturdy. Contours to the head with a gel type cushion on the underside of the band. But no matter how I positioned it after an hour I was readjusting due to pressure tenderness.
I do suspect that after some time of use the material in the headband will adjust and reduce this. Only time will tell. Im not really big headed lol. Nor do I wear glasses or used any during this review. For reference, from ear to ear I’m at about 6 3/4”.
Considerations:
A few other items to note. None of these should be dealbreakers on their own.
Very cool on/off feature by folding the headphones. These don’t have an audio jack. Not terrible but it also means no pairing with older devices.
Only a Lightning charging port. Not the end of the world but if you come from a android ecosystem these may force you to buy additional Lightning cables should the provided cable fail.
The carrying case is just that. A carrying case. The provided carrying case doesn’t protect the headset from falls or impacts. The case is a soft suede like fabric.

This headset sounds really good. Easy to pair with iOS or Android. You just unfold it and it paired right away with iOS . On Android it was simple too. It comes with the lightning cable, soft case and clip. Noise cancellation is good and you can also allow sound to come through. There's no audio cable which I was a little disappointed but then realized we use Bluetooth either way when charging most iOS devices. The battery is supposed to last over 20hours with noise cancellation and over 40 with it off. The right ear has the lightning port, volume, FF, RW play and pause circular button. On the bottom left is the mode/ pair button.

I bought these yesterday and I am loving them! The sound is incredibly clear and loud. Some people are saying the bass is a bit light but I have no problem with how they sound. The look is very clean and modern. I have the ivory color and it goes really well with my gold iPhone 12 Pro. Battery is amazing as well. 22 hours of listening with noise cancellation. 40 hours without! You can't beat that. Because these headphones have noise cancellation, the build of the headphones might be a little tight with some people in order for the ear cups to have that hold to block out the sounds from your surroundings, But other than that, these are amazing!

These headphones are Great, but have a few issues.
The materials are amazing, they have a quality feel to them. Battery lasts for about a week. Transparency mode is very useful. Charging time is very low.
However, out of the box, sound quality is weird. There is too much midrange and not enough bass, I had to put sound enhancements for it to get more low range.
After about half an hour, ears start to hurt from the fit, you might need to adjust it.
The noise cancellation works but takes some getting used to. When first used, my ears felt like I was on an airplane, but this will go away after a day or 2.
Overall, I give them a 4/5, would recommend to a friend.

I'll keep it brief and break this up into sections to help you get a feel for what these are like to own. I bought these for $170 for my Google Pixel 4a.
The build:
these are solidly constructed. If your head is massive then they won't fit you well, but they fit me fine, and my head is fairly large. The folding mechanism is elegant but requires both sides to be retracted to fold properly. Regardless, I can see these lasting years. That said, the buttons on the side are inexcusably cheap feeling and rattle your ear with every press.
The audio:
casual listeners rejoice, these are punchy and reasonably clear, yet somewhat lacking in mids. The old beats sound is a thing of the past, and that's a good thing. Bluetooth is the only way you can use them, which does mean reduced audio quality compared to a jack, but this is nit-picking that most people won't notice.
The noise-canceling:
it's very, very good, especially for on-ears. There's only one mode: on. However, it works because Apple's clever hardware automatically detects changes in your environment and tunes the ANC to work accordingly, and it's brilliant. Hear the world around you melt away.
Comfort: the fault I cannot excuse. The pads are plush and lovely, but to make the noise-canceling work well these headphones clamp your cranium a bit too hard. Your ears will plead for relief after a few hours of listening in a day.
Everything else: the app is simple and to the point, and these are impressively compatible with android. Only being able to turn them off by folding them is annoying but easy to get used to. They fast-charge at a mind-blowing rate, so don't worry about the battery. The microphone is really, really bad. Don't bother using these for phone calls or Discord.
So, are they worth it? If you get them for their black Friday sale price of $170, yes. Otherwise, save your money and buy something else. The Anker Q30, Sony WH-XB900N, and JBL Live 650BTNC are all worthy alternatives that will save you money and offer an equivalent or better experience.

Love these headphones. Completely sound proof and last a long time before needing to charge. Easily syncs to all bluetooth devices. The sound on these is pretty incredible. Great bass, and gets really loud if you want. Bluetooth was easy as can be to set up, transparency / noise cancelling is pretty nice, battery holds charge very well. No headphone jack on the headphones, but that's fine. Mic is surprisingly solid as well.
Only reason I am knocking off a star is they are a little tight on my head no matter how I adjust the fit - and the sizing of the cushion for the ears is slightly awkward... they are ALMOST big enough to be over-ear, but not quite so they scrunch the ear a little. If you are able to try these on and they are comfy - odds are you will view them as a 5/5 item. Overall I really like them, just hard to wear for too long. I got them for sale, would certainly purchase at sale price again.

Overall, these are great headphones! Before these, I had the Beats Solo 3 headphones which I liked very much but basically fell apart after a few years. I was torn between the Bose Quiet Comfort 35 II and the Beats Solo Pro. The Bose were a little more comfortable on my head and seemed to have a tad bit better high fidelity, however I thought the controls were more difficult to navigate and the price was higher than the Beats. It was hard for me to judge the sound quality of the Beats at BB because the Beats display samples were not set up very well causing the sound to keep shorting out. The Beats were more stylish, and, in my opinion, the controls were much more user friendly since all functions are controlled by the number of times you push the side panel of the headset, rather than finding your way around the small switches on the Bose. For that reason, but mostly due to the cheaper price, I purchased the Beats. When I got home and tried them out, I was amazed at the great sound quality which was hard to judge at the store. The tone was very balanced, and the volume could be raised very loud without any distortion. I mostly use the headphones while on the treadmill at the gym for about an hour. Even though most of the reviews I had read mentioned that they were too tight and less comfortable than other headphones, I did not find that to be the case. Perhaps if I wore them longer, I would have a different opinion. Although I can surely tell the difference when switching to noise cancelling mode, I don’t really use that feature. However, I DO tend to keep the transparency mode on most of the time which I really love. When they are on and someone wants to talk to me, I simply pause the sound and press the little button on the left earpiece to turn on transparency and I can hear everything without having to take the headphones off. The Beats charge super-fast and, even with keeping the transparency mode on all the time, they hold a charge for a very long time. There ARE a few negatives. First, as others have mentioned, it lacks a 3.5mm audio cable. If you have the need for one, you must purchase it separately. Because of this, I cannot plug the headphones into my gym’s built-in treadmill TV to hear the audio. Nor will I be able to use them on a plane. I can only connect to Bluetooth devices. The headphones have no on-off switch. Instead, they turn off and on by folding or unfolding them. While this is a somewhat good feature, I wish it also had an override button so they can turn off if I am wearing them around my neck for a period of time. I read that they are supposed to go into a lower power mode when remaining on without using them and even though I can always recharge them, it just bugs me that they remain on without being folded. Finally, for some reason I have pinched my hand a few times between headphone joints when unfolding them. This never happened with the Beats Solo 3s. In summary, I would highly recommend these. Note that various colors are sometimes cheaper than others. For example, the dark blue, light blue, and red are $30 less than the other colors. Also note that BB gives you 6 months of free Apple Music with the purchase which I am really enjoying!

For the price, an excellent value. Audiophiles may want to be pay top dollar for top-of-the-line headphones, but the Beats by Dr. Dre Solo Pro surpassed expectations in terms of quality of sound and the punchy bass, noise cancelling and battery life. I love that they are wireless, sturdy, good-looking and work seamlessly in my Apple universe. The one complaint: You'll need to purchase a Lightning-to-3.5mm audio cable to connect to a standard headphone jack (think airplane entertainment systems), but after a month of using the Solo Pro, I'm happy that I treated myself to an early Christmas present.

Originally I bought a grey model, and I was pleasantly surprised. Especially after hearing about their atrocious history of being mediocre sounding with a head thumping bass that drowned out everything else.
But seeing as Apple usurped the brand name and that these were a newer model, I gave em a try after seeing them on sale. I bit the bullet especially after seeing a model with a color I really liked, and needless to say, I hated that model. That model didn't have a working microphone with an ANC defect giving an unbearable white noise from either earcup. I went to a local best buy originally intent on getting my money back if they decided to charge me the apple warranty price for such a defect through no fault of my own.
They didn't charge me and the customer service was excellent. Furthermore, I'm quite disappointed I didn't ask for his name as he was very helpful throughout the process, although I didn't get the exact color as they no longer had grey models I settled for the just as nice white.
When everything works it's a pretty all-around great experience, the connection is very intuitive just unfold them and they're basically pop up on your iPhone, if you're rocking android I assume you can connect to them via Bluetooth settings, the sound is pretty clear without any overbearing bass the brand is known for, which in my opinion isn't a deal-breaker as I'm no bass head. It's apple so of course, it charges via lightning, and seeing as my phone and AirPods pros charge via the same cable it's quite convenient for me.
The music controls are in the right earcup and kinda function as a D-Pad with clicky buttons, its quite subjective but I like em. Now how do they fit and are they comfortable? I'd say they're not really that comfortable compared to some over the ear headphones I've owned in the past. But it's understandable, for ANC to be effective there needs to be a tight seal and the clamping force makes it quite effective, though you'll definitely need to take a break after a few hours, they also fit my small head just fine.

The good:
- Great sound quality
- Rich bass
- Pretty much no sound bleed
- Great noise cancelling
- Pairing is really easy with apple devices
- Battery life is pretty great, lasted me many days before needing to recharge
- They recharge very quickly
- They look great
The bad:
- They clamp too hard around your head, especially around the top of the head
- Transparency mode is disappointing, it’s almost as if it weren’t there
- Noise cancelling is there, but I’ve tried better ones
- They’re a but too big for me, even to carry them around my neck
If you don’t care about transparency mode and have no issues carrying and wearing them, these headphones are for you.

I started to give this 3.5 stars if I could. First let me say its not a bad product. However, I have used Sony earphones for years and I finally decided to try Beats and I am not as impressed as I expected. The sound is good, yes. But I have an older pair of Sony that blow these out the water on sound quality. The older Sony are not Bluetooth and can't take calls and I wanted one that could do it all while I am walking for exercise if my phone rings and I bother taking the call. The battery power is an A+ I may update the rating to 4 just for that.... ehhh maybe a 3.75. It has an app that is very basic but I do like how you can make it totally sound proof or two other settings. I am a mom I can't afford to not hear what's going on so I usually turn on the setting to hear but you can definitely tell the difference from the 3 settings. You know this extra piece I will go ahead and give it a 4 star because I really like that option. I haven't upgraded wireless head sets in years so if that's something that is the norm for all brands, I am unaware. As with many other reviews yes they hurt sometimes after having on a good hour and if you wear glasses you may need to move them up from your ears a little bit. My head is not that big the thing just really is tight and "unmoving" if that makes sense. I think they could be better if the ear piece was just bigger all around and if it rotated instead on the head band piece just going up and down. Overall the product is fine. Biggest disappointment is sound not as crisp and beautiful as expected but maybe its because my Sony's just sound so great - but the sound is still nice either way. Every now and then for some reason it won't auto connect when I unfold - not sure why it does it and its auto connects most of the time. The Beats App should show you all your Beats products you have in the app in summary not just the one you have on at the time.

I consider myself an audiophile, I've had alot of high end headphones over the years (in ear, on ear, & over ear) and for the price of $170 on sale Beats Solo Pro are incredible value. I will admit that these are hard to justify purchasing their original price of $300; they're not as comfy as the Bose 700 nor do they have their level of nouse cancellation, they don't have the wide selection of Hi- Res audio connections that the Sony wh-1000xm3 have nor its sound EQ and finally do not have the incredible sound profile of the Bang & Olufsen PX. HOWEVER, if you can get them on sale, then it would be hard to find better Bass heavy headphones with features such as ANC as well as a transparency mode along with instant connection to all apple devices.
They dont feel as flimsy or as cheap as the older iterations and theyve also increased the ear cup size thankfully so while they are still considered "on ear" and not "over ear" the larger ear cups are both more comfortable and create a better seal.
Technically speaking, Passive Noise Cancellation (along with over the ear design) is more effective than the Active Noise Cancellation that Beats Solo Pro has but personally I prefer ANC. If you're willing to sacrifice a very slight degredation in sound quality with ANC on, I think it is 100% worth it over having to deal with the downsides to PNC: Hearing your own footsteps/Breathing in your ears as well as the notorious pressurized air feeling.
I do believe if you are able to get these headphones for under $200 they are great value for Apple users first and foremost (instant connection with any Apple devices), for those who enjoy Bass Heavy sound and having the option to use ANC & Transparency.
*Do keep in mind they have no native sound EQ app or settings, they are "on ear" so most likely they will not cover or seal around your ears entirely, they are not sweatproof rated & like most Apple devices they use a lightning port to charge.*

I’m obsessed with these. I first got AirPods Pro and was allergic to them lol. Then I tried the beats studio buds but they have the same silicon tip I must be allergic too. Finally got these.
- they look cool
- they are extremely obvious, unlike buds people actually know you are wearing them. I don’t feel as rude if I accidentally ignore a neighbor while walking the dog because people know I’m wearing them.
- noise cancel is important to me
- I got them on sale!
- H1 chip is very important to me. Sometimes I switch between my phone or MacBook or even my Apple Watch
COMFORT: I did feel like these were too tight when I got them. However they are so amazing I didn’t want to give up the features for comfort. I’ve had them for almost a month and I think they stretched out. I also noticed the ones in the store that wear stretching on a mannequin head were also more comfy. Here’s the thing- I either got used to the clamp or they stretched out. I also appreciate the clamp because I am active sometimes and they never fall off.
The only bad thing I can say here is that I wish transparency mode was as clear and powerful as the AirPod pro. It’s a small issue. These headphones are my favorite. I love them so much that I want different colors which would be a pointless waste of money. I have the red
