I have two young kids. Normally when I work from home it is just me, the toddler, and my mother. Now that the world is closed, I also have my husband and high-energy six year old in the house. My husband is working from the same room, which means he also has his own meetings. Plus we both have loud mechanical keyboards. On the very first day of everyone being home... around the point where I had two kids screaming at the top of their lungs, my mother trying to comfort the bloody-nosed toddler while yelling above the noise for the six year old to be quiet, while my husband tried to make a phone call and then joined the fray yelling for everyone to be quiet.... yeah, I was on BestBuy.com looking for headphones and picked them up that night. I already have some Jaybirds, but didn't want them in my ears all day. I also wanted something that could easily be seen so people would know to leave me alone. The Jaybirds aren't easily spotted. The pickings were slim for over-ear noise isolating headphones under $200. I noticed these Beats usually $349, but certain colors were on sale for $199. I figured they must be better than the 3 or 4 other options based on regular price and reviews, so I got them even though I have always thought Beats were a bit silly and over priced. And honestly, I would never have spent $349 on them, so I guess I still think they're over priced. That's why I only gave 4 stars. These are pretty good, although I would expect a lot more from them if I'd paid full price. The noise isolating feature is wonderful, but does not block out all sound. When you turn them on without music playing there is a very noticeable decrease in ambient noise. With music playing you can drown out the background noise enough to ignore it, but you will still be aware when people talk to you. With my Jaybirds and other earbuds I've had in the past (I had a couple different Shures before the Jaybirds) people could walk up to me and I would be oblivious. So, if you're trying to completely block out all sound, the Beats are not for you... but they do a pretty good job of keeping you from strangling noisy people while you're trying to concentrate on work.

This is the second beats I have owned. Had the first pair 6 or 7 years, then the hinges broke where they folded. Wasn’t so happy about that. 1st pair beats sound was really super, compared to second pair studio beats 3. Studio beats 3 could use a little more base. Not complaining they are still a good sounding head phone. They are a little big for my head, they don’t rest on my head as well as the old pair did. Guess I haven’t figured out the noise canceling part because I can still hear everything that goes on around me. But the real reason I bought them was to use with the tv. They work fantastic, at least I don’t bother anyone when watching movies at night. Conclusion - worth it.

Very comfortable and decent sound. Bought them for the noise canceling performance. Not quite bose level but for less money it's a good value. Nice integration with iOS.

I just use these headphones for the gym.... I had the solo 3s but one side works after only using them for 4 months. These are a little more pricier but definitely worth it. They are way louder and have noise canceling (optional) ..perfect for the gym. Yea people have their opinions on different headphones , but Dre beats are the best looking headphones.

I returned my first pair of Beats (Solo3 in Rose Gold) last years, I was very disappointed. The volume sounded low on the highest setting and overall I wasn’t impressed. Fast forward a year later- I decided to give Beats one more chance and I’m glad I did. The volume is MUCH better with this model and I could enjoy the sound quality. Best headphones I’ve ever owned!
