    great sound, horrible reliability

Went through two pairs of these before giving up. First pair had issues with the speakers cutting in and out. Second pair lasted about 6 months before completely losing the right speaker. Both sets saw fairly limited use and were not abused. You'd think for the price, and the quality of the sound, they could come up with some wires that won't lose the connection to the speakers.

    Very disappointed

Within 30 days of purchase the jack shorted out. I take very good care With my electronics and upon examination the jack is not stable and easily bends like soft material. I compared it to the standard earbuds That came with my phone and the apple product was very strong. Now I know why their warranty specifically does NOT cover the jack. I guess they were aware of this problem already.

    Keep Breaking

This is what happened to me. I had my urbeats for about 3 months and I took good care of them but the inline mic stoped working. No big deal but then the right earbud stoped woking too, I called beats and I sent it to them and they relaced them. They sent me a brand new pair but again the inline mic did the same thing. So I would go to tours because the cord is much biger and more durable and im going to send this pair back to beats.

2 Pairs shorted out in 2 weeks

My girlfriends mom bought us each a pair for Christmas. Within 2 weeks both pairs have shorted out. 1 completely, and the other in the left ear only. What a waste of hard earned money. The fact the both pairs didn't last 2 weeks of sporadic use should say it all for this product. I would not recommend anyone even consider these headphones.

Exchanged the Nikki ménage headphones which developed a short for these because BB no longer had the Nikki ménage headphones. Same sound quality, hopefully not the same short I the cord.

    Disappointing...

Just bought these and already regret it… Since I've only had them for about an hour now, I can't touch on durability; however, the cord tangles easily and feels very flimsy. The main issues I noticed are as follows: 1.) They don’t stay in very well. Once they're in your ear, the slightest (and I mean slightest) tug will pop them right out. And yes, I tried switching the ear tips. 2.) The sound is completely disappointing. The bass oomph you'd expect from Beats By Dre is not present at all, the mids and highs sound sloppy, and I even caught some distortion while playing a 320 kbps recording of "Bass I Love You" by Bassotronics at only 75% volume on my iPhone. Just an all-around sad audio performance. 3.) The price is absurd for this quality. The $30 earpods by Apple out-perform these on every level except sound isolation. The only pros I found with these are as follows: 1.) They look nice outside of your ear. 2.) The microphone is positioned well. 3.) The iPhone controls work nicely. Conclusion: All would be decimated if they at least sounded good. I really wanted to like these earbuds. Check my other reviews; I am a Beats By Dre fan, but these were just awful. If you absolutely NEED something that has the Beats logo and only plan to use these for making calls and looking cool to fellow Beats enthusiasts, go nuts. Otherwise, don't waste your time or your money. I plan to exchange these for a set of Klipsch S4i headphones; they are the same price and are receiving raving reviews.

Don't waste your time or your hard earned $

3 weeks after purchase the controls shut down. No blue tooth, no volume control, no pause - just sound at one level. Took back to BB but they don't accept the return!!! No disclosure that you have to return the product to the manufacturer on your dime, on your time, and wait for them to send replacement...2-3 weeks. Totally unacceptable! Thoroughly frustrating! Save your time and your money. Earbuds ARE disposable whether they cost $15 at Target or $100 at BB....the difference is this, when they break (and they will) your return at Target is fast and easy and your replacement is in your hand. With Urbeats, that's it...you are beat!! It's all right there in the name!!!

Terrible at best. Poor Sound Quality, Cheap Build.

Sound Quality - I know this review may sound harsh, but being an audio enthusiast who pays attention to detail and every nuances in music, I can tell you without hesitation, this ear-bud is over-hyped at best. Although for many users who just upgrade from their cheap ear-buds this may look like a step up and audio heaven, However I can assure you, once you hear more products and take some time to research, you will be sure to reward yourself with a product that is well worth of your hard earned cash. I had the first generation iBeats ear-buds which performed well over this current generation ear-buds, however one thing that still remains constant is, these beats earphones just cannot produce the vivid, detailed sound that excels in tonal clarity. Instead they sound extremely flat where highs are muted, and even the bass that they are known for being rattling most of the times. Unlike the old ear-buds, these new ones come with less number of ear tips as well. Penny savings for the beats I guess. In comparison, my HTC One m8's ear-buds and galaxy s5's ear-buds sound excellent in tonal range. Build quality - There is absolutely no reason to upgrade your earphones if you have a Galaxy s5 or HTC One m8's, as they come packaged with ear-buds that are superior in build quality than these. Also these beats ear-buds are notoriously known for breaking few weeks to few months of time, forcing you to buy expensive extended warranty packages or lose your capital that you have spent on these earphones. Will I recommend this product? No. This ear-buds has been over-hyped at best and you can find much more capable product that excels in sound quality as well as build quality and looks for the equal price or less often times. Why pay more for the namesake? The Bose IE2, Monster iSport victory, Skullcandy Ink'd2, Skullcandy Titan, Sol Republic JAX are some of the headphones that can handily beat these in sound and build at equivalent or less cost.

They stopped working (shorted wire) after 1 year

They sounded good and felt good while they lasted. That's the problem though, they stopped working after ~1 year. I wore them about 4-5 times a week at the gym until they shorted out.

    Not good sound

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

With the reputation that beats has I thought these would be a great pair of ear buds. I was very disappointed. The sound is quite unbalanced- it is very pitchy with little to no bass at all. On the brighter side, they do look good and the noise cancelling works well. But, this is not enough to make up for the lack of sound quality.
