This film did a fantastic job of bringing the original Disney cartoon to life. The movie followed the same basic storyline as the cartoon, but it contained a few updates that proved to be good improvements. Most especially, I loved the addition of the song "Evermore." It's sad, but it's also nice to have a song solely from the Beast's perspective. So much of the story comes from Belle's point of view, but having this song gives a great glimpse into the Beast's struggles. Also, I have to say that Emma Watson and Dan Stevens did amazing jobs in the lead roles, and the supporting cast was wonderful. All the actors made their characters vibrant, and each musical number was incredibly performed and orchestrated. With regard to the blu-ray, the digital copy includes an iTunes file. If you're looking to expand your Apple movie library, this blu-ray will work for you!

the kids love the story, music and cast. Great for a rainy day

I have to say, this is one movie I actually bought without watching it first, mostly because folks had nothing bad to say about it, and I'm glad I did! I watched the cartoon years ago, and to my recollection, this live action version was very faithful to it. Gaston looked exactly like his cartoon counterpart, for example. Great casting! Emma Watson was fantastic as Belle, and the Beast was very well done. The cgi was a little obvious in a couple of spots, but you soon forgot about it as you got deeper into the story. The household staff was so well done; I very much enjoyed their screen time. The original cartoon was one of my wife's favorites as a young girl, and she loved this version. She was glued to the screen with a silly grin on her face the entire time. To me, that's pretty high praise. If you liked the original, or even if you've never seen it, trust me, you'll like this movie.
