Great adaption if the animated classic. Must see!!

great movie able to sit and watch with my daughter.

This is great remake of a very good Disney classic!

I think this adaptation it's just about the best you could hope for. I saw it in theaters 4 times. Granted I saw it with 4 different people, but as someone who doesn't go to the theater more than once per movie, that's really saying something. I love Emma Watson in everything so naturally I was pleased about her being cast in this role. Though honestly, her singing isn't the best and is definitely touched up, I was able to get over that quickly and enjoy the movie overall. The quality of her acting, all the other actors' acting and singing, the screenplay, soundtrack, sets, etc. did not suffer by being brought back in live action! Having Josh Groban in the credits and the movie soundtrack was just an added bonus! For many Disney fans this is a must to add to their collection.

While certainly not necessary, this live-action remake is pretty good. I don't know that it won any awards, but it's a decent, mostly enjoyable watch.

Beauty and the Beast may be my favorite classic Disney film not just because of the story and art of the original but probably most because the legendary Celine Dion sang the iconic song for the film. Emma Watson brings Belle to life in such a fantastic manner as a strong, curious, meant for more heroine while the supporting cast and musical performances help the film feel just as magical as the original cartoon. It was also wonderful to have Celine take part with another original song.

This was a worthwhile live-action update that carried over the best parts of the classic Disney animation: the music and atmosphere. We didn't expect it to follow the animated film so closely. But, while I was looking forward to something fresher, in a way I'm glad they did. The animation was pretty much perfect already. So updating in in the modern CG era, was a pleasant surprise. There have been a number of cinematic and television re-imaginings since, like the Christophe Gans's film, anyway. None of which has managed to capture our hearts as well as the Disney classic. Updating it for younger audiences seems the most prudent and delightful way to go. BB produced a nice steelbook case and didn't excessively overcharge for it this time. Recommended!

Who would have thought the Live Action version could hold a candle to the animated classic. The extra fleshing out of the characters, the backstories of the Prince and Belle, and real actors give the story something unique. My wife loved this movie and has a new favorite movie of the last 30 years. Now just waiting and hoping Disney will see to release the 3D presentation in the US (abominable decision to release this everywhere in the world except at home) hopefully with full Atmos and expanded Imax Aspect ratio. I have a feeling a 4K disc is coming, but given Disney's pullback on 3D, I have a feeling buying an international copy is going to be necessary. A really poor decision by a great company removing options from their customers.

My five star rating for this is not on the movie itself, but of the packaging, price, and as far as the movie, the production value. I personally hate the story, and this was purchased for my daughter, but I am able to realize the work put into something like this. The set design was incredible, acting was average, and I feel they could have gotten better people to play Belle and Beast. Besides Lumiere and Cogsworth, I thought the other characters were horrible, and it was a slow torture getting through this film. What saved it for me were the special effects and visuals, that's it. The original animated version was much better as far as the acting. I hope to never watch this again, because I might end up ice picking my eyeballs out.
