Pretty good movie, more for younger audiences than it is for adults

I grew up on the original and it was one of my favorite Disney films. This live action movie captures the essence of it and turns it into a visual masterpiece. The artistic direction is fantastic, the music is incredible (granted, I do prefer the original singers over these actors though). My only real gripe with this movie is that The Beast has a very noticeable uncanny valley effect and looks unreal compared to everything else. Granted, that's just a minor issue. The acting is fantastic.

I grew up watching the Animated Disney version, and always loved the atmosphere, characters and overall message. I was a bit hesitant when I first heard about the live action release, but once I learned who was involved decided to give it a chance. We picked this up on a whim (confidence in cast, story and good reviews helped), and were pleasantly surprised with how it turned out. The sets are awesome, the characters remain pretty true to the originals (some implications within the original are brought further into the light here too), and the music turned out great - even the new originals! One downside I can think of here is that the Beast's CGI excels in some scenes but in others can be a bit too obvious. Despite that, I highly recommend this to fans of the original, those who like musicals, or those who may have a favorite actress/actor involved here as the performances were top.

So I bought this movie for our girls because it's a movie that they wanted to go see when it was in the theater and we never got around to taking them to see it then. They love it so much that they play it on the t.v; in all honestly just for background noise now, while they play with their dolls or play-doh. We watched it with them multiple times. I can't say that I enjoyed it too much, it is a children's movie after all. The time I spent with our girls and answering any questions they might of had was time well spent though. They enjoy it very much and that's what matters. If you have children, then it's a must have. Anything that allows you to connect with your kids in good spirit is a win win for us. Also keep in mind that it's a good movie for when mom & dad want to spend "quality time" and need to keep the kids occupied. Use it to your advantage when you can people.

I was so excited that Best Buy was offering a pre-order for the new Beauty and the Beast movie. I ordered it on May 19th and was counting down the days until it would arrive on June 6th. I was pleasantly surprised when I checked the tracking 2 days before the expected delivery date and found out I would be getting it a day early. Thank you Best Buy for an easy ordering process, and early delivery for my favorite movie of the year!! The DVD worked perfectly, no glitches! Awesome!!

Anytime a remake is announced, I'm hesitant, especially if its a favorite. The original animated movie came out when I was little so I grew up with this film and other Disney Renaissance classics so those movies are special to me. I LOVED this movie, the detail and the work put into this really show. I especially love the plot holes they filled that I noticed at even 5 LOL. If the rest of the live-action remakes are this good, I can't wait for Aladdin and the Little Mermaid.

I purchased this on the first day of availability ("New Movie Tuesday) at a price less than I expected to pay. The store was already out of the steel box collector DVD, but that was not what I was really wanting, so this was an overall bargain. I somewhat rarely purchase ANY Disney movies, but after seeing this one on the big screen, I knew it was one I wanted to personally own . . so Best Buy made that immediately possible. I can easily suggest that others purchase this DVD.

I adore the movie. The hate/love situation. A magical love story

If you are a fan of the old cartoon film than you must treat yourself to this new version. It definitely took me down memory lane and was a pure joy to watch. They do add a few new scenes and songs but for the most part the film sticks to the original. My one complaint about the film is I thought they could have done a better job with the Beast animation; however, the animation of all the other characters were really well done. Would recommend checking this one out.

I wanted to see this with my family in the theaters but didn't get the chance. I'm a steel book hound so I will always buy steel books just because they are typically the same price and are pretty awesome looking cases. The movie is great. I was expecting obviously a remake of the original animated film, but there is a lot more added to it that felt was not required of the original but fit in nicely. We really enjoyed the movie and wish we would have caught it in theaters.

I buy Blu-Rays, not for the feature, but for the additional features. Disney did a great job on this one as there are a ton featurettes littered throughout, including the initial read-thru by the cast. I was a bit shocked to not see anything from Stanley Tucci or Ewan McGreggor. Overall a good piece and if you liked the theatrical version you'll love this. My only minor nitpick is I for one did not like Josh Gad's portrayal of LaFou. Beyond that the casting was awesome.

Live action movie is good. Imagery is very nice too.

I came in to buy 1 movie, but with all his help, I bought 3. Brandon had to ring purchase up several times due to different price charged & what was on shelf where movies were bought. This new take on the classic Disney feature we all know and love is dazzling! A must see for all Disney fans! It has all the songs from the original and more new songs that are sure to be classics in time. The new twists in the plot really helped answer questions left by the 1991 version of the story and made the characters feel less static. By the end of the movie you really feel like everything came together full circle. All in all I give this movie an +A. Loved it!

I was hesitant in watching this because usually the remakes are very different from the ore however I am happy that I gave it a try. Yes there are some differences but they are very subtle & there are also some added things that were not in the classic version however the added parts for very nicely & I enjoyed it. If you live the classic beauty and the beast then this new version is a must see!

I love Beauty & the Beast, my whole bedroom is B & THE B , so when this video came out I reserved a copy its magical if you don;t have a copy you should obtain one, they will always be worth $'s. The TAPE version from years gone by are worth $'s but needless to say she's beautiful in this version BUY one even if you didn't see the movie snuggle up on a cold WI night & watch it with all the craziness we have in our world this is magical people! BUY IT!!
