I really like this movie a lot but must point out that the soundtrack is its weekest area. While very good on its own, it’s not as good as the animated version or the absolutely amazing broadway version in terms of performances. Also, the new songs for this film are not especially great. The visuals however, are excellent and the acting is pretty good with the exception of Emma Watson.

A steelbook case is always nice to have for the collection especially depending on the cover art itself assuming you were able to get your hands on one. This one in particular is nice, always been a fan of the animated Beauty and the Beast and the movie did particularly well. It could have been a little better but they have done worse with other live-action films so this movie passed for me.

How incredibly charmed I was by this film. Certainly still very much in love with the original, animated classic, but found a new appreciation for the story and score in this live-action version. So elegant and beautifully depicted, filling in a lot of plot holes from the animated movie. Performances are stellar, gives a fabulous fresh new spin on a "tale as old as time." HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

I think that "Beauty And The Beast" was once again one of the greatest Disney films of all-time and it was also one of my favorite Disney films of all-time. I have seen and enjoyed this film several times and I also think that "Beauty And The Beast" had a lot of exciting, entertaining and enjoyable drama, mystery, suspense and action including an amazing and original personal storyline.

I was out of town when the movie arrived in the mail - but I had my husband open it up and send me a picture of the digital code so that I could add it to the Disney library and watch it on my ipad that night. In the span of about 5 days I've watched it roughly 6 times (I have a problem...). Safe to say that I love it, and think it is the best remake of a classic that they've done so far.

    Tale as Old as Time

When I was a little kid and would take in a particular Disney animated feature multiple times within a very short window I always wondered what it might be like to see such characters and such worlds come to life. Real life. I never thought it would happen after the live action versions of 101 Dalmatians and its money-grubbing sequel underwhelmed (at least they did in my adolescent mind), but then again I also desperately hoped that one day movie studios might wise-up and begin building a shared universe where my favorite super heroes interacted on the big screen as well. As I've grown up and become a parent myself it seems Disney has decided to make all of my dreams come true while also giving their most iconic of animated classics updates so that they might reach wider audiences and new generations-including my daughter's. Over the past seven years or so now we've seen an uptick in the number of live-action films based on classic Disney properties. Whether they be from the respective studio that originated the tale in popular culture or not it seems many have noticed this as a way to garner solid returns-despite the brand recognition formula not always working (I liked you, Tarzan, but you cost too much). Though Disney began this recent trend by attempting to re-work properties such as Alice in Wonderland and the Sleeping Beauty story in the form of the Angelina Jolie vehicle that is Maleficent, it has been the last two live action adaptations in Cinderella and The Jungle Book that have yielded the best results in terms of quality (with all doing rather well financially). The point being, when it comes to these re-imaginings the best bet for both pleasing audiences and critics alike seems to be sticking with the source material and simply adding flourishes where might be necessary. This is one of the highlights of this latest incarnation of Beauty and the Beast as more logic and depth are applied to the characters and their plights despite the film as a whole being little more than a pound for pound remake of the Oscar nominated 1991 animated version. One would be hard-pressed to even call what director Bill Condon (Dreamgirls) has made here an interpretation, but while there isn't anything in particular that separates the film apart as being great in its own regard, it pays honorable enough homage to this reviewer's childhood memories that it would be difficult to argue with the thrills and excitement it delivered in selling such a fantastical story come to life.

I have a 5 year old daughter and she loves Disney. And Beauty and the Beast was one of her favorite. I love the steelbook design and it's a very fair price, when compared to the regular case version of the same format. I would recommend this product to anyone who collects movies for sure, steelbook are a nice addition, plus if your looking for a good family movie, this won't disappoint

Truly an amazing retelling of a "tale as old as time." The movie closely follows the 1991 version of the movie with few exceptions. The music is great and while the scenes might be scary for the youngest viewers the humor keeps thing light. I would highly recommend the movie and this is coming from someone who truly does not believe that Hollywood should be remaking every classic movie.

Beauty and the beast is one my favorite films so I went into this remake with some reservations. I am happy to say that Disney really did a fine job. The movie is amazing. It's faithful to the original, but is still able to distinguish itself from the original. The real start of this film is gaston. The actor portraying him really hit a home run with his performance. Great film.

It follows the play a lot more than the other Disney live action films. The special effects are good, and it was all around entertaining. My only complaints would be even though their Gaston acted his role very well, he was not nearly the size of a barge; and that autotune was used a little more liberally than I care for. The steel book on this one is definitely attractive packaging.

The animated Beauty and the Beast is still the only animated movie ever nominated for best Picture. The Live action movie takes all the elements that made that film special and adds to them. We get more back story to some of the major characters, deeper characterization, and more musical numbers. The few changes in the existing scenes add humor, drama, or context. Great Movie.

A fun musical which proves that women loves men who aren't good for them. The antagonist was a rude, obnoxious man who wants a woman he could not get. The BEAST was a horrible person who needed Belle to love him so he can break the curse. Belle is stuck with the Beast and grows to love him over a period of time. The antagonist goes to "rescue" Belle from the Beast. Pretty predictible. Acting and casting was EXCELLENT. Music was from the original animation with 2 new songs. Emma Watson(Belle), Luke Watson(Gaston) was EXCELLENT, but the show stopper was Josh Gad as Lafou. THis was better than the live action Cinderella. Very good movie, but the music was a little too much.

We saw this film opening day in the theaters. It was a fantastic remake of the classic cartoon. Its great to see the creators were able to recreate a live action film off of a cartoon and still stick to the charm and magic of the original. I highly recommend picking this up for people of all ages, especially before physical movies disappear forever to the download only format.

In my opinion, they did a pretty good job and it was very close to the original movie. The only thing i didnt like was how Chip, the beast, and all the other characters looked like in the castle. I think its cgi they used but it looked fake and their design couldve been better but other than that they did a good job! And i love how this blu ray/dvd has many special features.

Initially, I was fearful of a live-action version of the classic animated version of Beauty and the Beast, but this movie explained a little more about Belle's mother, had different versions of favorite songs and even introduced some new ones. The most amazing thing about the movie is the incredible spectacle and pageantry involved in the costumes and sets. Very impressive!

This is almost a screen for screen remake of the classic Disney animated film. However that's not a bad thing at all. Its acted excellent, and the new scenes really add to the story. Is it as good, or better than the animated? Tough choice. I highly recommend this to any fan of the animated film, or any Disney fan in general. The picture/sound on the Blu-ray is fantastic.

This steelbook was a must have! Unfortunately if you do not pre order you most likely will never find this item. I pre ordered and still had to drive 90 minutes to a store that carried it because my local stores did not. This film is a beautiful reimagining of the original animated Disney classic. I would highly recommend this for any family or just a Disney fan in general.

I'm a big fan of the original B&B so I was a bit skeptical about this live action version; however, it was surprisingly good. It is, at its core a pretty faithful remake, but it does have some interesting changes and additions to make it different enough. Also the visuals are fantastically done. In the end it's an alternate yet equally as good way of enjoying this story.

At first, I had my doubts but after watching it. All I can say is wow, it was wonderful. A remake of the classic animation with a few added scenes to give it's own feel. From the songs to the wardrobes to the silverware. It is up there with Jungle Book as Disneys best live adaptation to date. Plus the steelbook, is gorgeous, featuring the iconic rose. Awesome all around.

I like earlier versions of Beauty and the Beast but am a fan of this live action version for the characters - especially Belle. No ballet slippers for this woman walking about the village of dirt roads and off riding horse. It is more "real" but retains the magic and fantasy associated with the Beast (in spirit and appearance) and the enchanted castle inhabitants.
