Great for my setup

Although VGA is not a common necessity on docks, I need two for my setup. My desktop utilizes the HDMI on my monitors, so my work and personal laptop utilize the VGA. I am using this with a SurfaceBook Laptop Studio and ZenBook Duo. Both have higher than 100W charging needs, and the SB cannot utilize USB charging. With that said, I was concerned the USB ports may be under powered and cut out, without a separate power supply. This has not been the case. My SB would sometimes have monitor sync issues with the Surface Dock 2, requiring me to disconnect and reconnect the dock. I have not had that issue with this dock. My ZenBook Duo only has Thunderbolt ports on the right side. As you may noticed from the image, the cable is short on this unit. So, this is my biggest usability issue. I had to purchase a 40gb/s USB-C/Thunderbolt extension cable, in order for it to reach the right side of my laptop. I believe there are units that offer higher-end specs, but this works for me. I get full-speed Ethernet, fast card reading, (The card reader is awkward to get to), and stable video output. That is what I wanted. I am using the chargers that came with my laptops to power them.

Have not had it conk out like some of the reviews, but have not overloaded it. Usually run usb external drive, flash drive and hdmi on a normal basis. Not sure if it runs hot as the laptop sits on it and we never check for heat. Would have been 5 stars if it had a $69.99 price point. These forced accessories seem kind of high, especially when they are not even Apple brand. Everything else is great, would definitely recommend.

Effective But Wish It Had a Longer USB-C Cord

The power transfer to recharge the laptop battery works well too. Some reviews that I read indicated that it did not but I have had no problems at all. For a home office user, the laptop and docking station work well together

Great until I needed 3 monitors

Worked great for simple needs, but once i wanted to run 3 monitors, noticed one of the 3 monitors flickered a lot. Decided to upgrade to a different dockingstation with more ports and that was more equipped to do what i needed. I still recommend it for general use.

Slick design, has very single port you'd need, does not need a power supply, and supports multiple monitors (I tested it with two simultaneously and one that has 144Hz refresh rate and 2550x1440 resolution. My laptop only has usb-c ports, this is a must-have.

Excellent desktop add in for thin laptops.
