The technician traced it to this connector. He replaced it with an Apple brand connector and the problem disappeared. This connector then disappeared when i threw it in the trash.

This is totally unexpected as we built the Belkin NPA004 to work with most USB-C enabled devices. You may try using the device on a different compatible device for isolation. Dac not working properly w/android
