We tried several less expensive ones with no luck. In this case you definitely get what you pay for.

Aux port short in a short amount of time!

This item last for a short time and it was the aux port that gave out, not the USB-C. I had to twist and bend wires in order for the aux port to function after a few weeks, maybe month. I was able to find a better quality splitter from a lesser known brand, by chance, on a marketplace app. It was also about 1/3 of the price. Never again trusting this brand for tech!
