Customers are delighted by the 4-Port USB Type-C Hub's numerous USB ports, ease of use, and high-quality build. Many appreciate its compact size and compatibility with various devices, finding it well-designed and practical. However, some users noted that the hub can get warm during use and that the cable could be longer. The product's positive aspects outweigh these minor drawbacks for most customers.

The Belkin multimedia hub offers great expandability to your laptop in a well-built easy to use package. The metal body houses an HDMI port, 2 USB-A ports, 1 USB-C port, an SD port, and a network port. Installation is easily accomplished simply by plugging the USB-C tail into your laptop. Nothing else to install or configure. That said, make sure that your laptop has USB-C Thunderbolt in order to use the HDMI port. This type of port will feature the lightning bolt icon and not the USB icon. Without this feature, everything but the HDMI port will work, as is the case with my HP Envy laptop. All in all, great little device that is super easy to use and very helpful.

Perfect size that include two USB 3 ports, SD card reader, 4K HDMI, Gigabit Ethernet and power delivery. Tested usb 3 speed using Sandisk flash drive get 350MB/s read and 330MB/s write. SD card reader only get 23MB/s read 27MB/s write; using my other card reader I get 92/48MB/s. It is pretty warm when doing a lot of transaction. The only thing I don't like is the usb port is upside down. Also make sure your computer is compatible. For Lenovo Yoga 730 15.6", only HDMI is working; Lenovo Miix 720, HDMI sometime disconnect for 1 to 2 seconds. But this work perfectly with HP Spectra x360.

Belkin USB C Travel Multimedia Dock + Charge The Belkin USB-C Multimedia HUB is a real space and time saver. I have 1 laptop that only has USB-C ports, nothing else. The HUB has 2 USB-3 ports, 1 4K HDMI port, 1 Full size SD card reader, 1 Gb ethernet port, and 1 USB-C 5 Gb port. Using this HUB I was able to add an external monitor at full resolution and either mirror, or extend the desktop onto the external monitor. I added 2 USB-2 and/or USB-3 devices mixed and matched at different times. The HUB recognized every item without any hesitation. I added an ethernet cable to the HUB and checked my internet speed. I received my full 1 Gbps internet speed. I read and wrote to a USB drive and an SD card. Speeds were as good as my desktop, but I do not have any freely available high-speed devices to check throughput. They worked at the same speed as my desktop so all worked well. I was not able to check the backwards compatibility of the USB-C port because my external devices are all just USB-2 or 3. I did however check the power passthrough on the HUB. I plugged in the laptops power adapter to the HUB, then the USB-C wire to the laptops charging port. This worked well however my laptop through up a warning that I was using a smaller charger than the laptop required. The HUB states it can pass 60 watts of power, my laptop requires 65 watts. Other than the warning about charging and battery draining the HUB supplied enough power to charge the laptop to full even while I was using other devices on the HUB from the laptop’s charger. So yes, the HUB restricted the power to 60 watts, but the laptop lies about how much it actually needs. Most likely the laptop would complain about any charger that is not made by them. Like a lot of Apple products do, they complain about not having an Apple charger, but they still work just fine. I think this falls in the same group. I used the laptop with an external DVD drive, external wired mouse, external monitor, and external network cable, all at the same time and the laptop still charged in the same time as it took before. This is a wonderful addition to my laptop bag. I will never leave it behind.

I have a high-end Chromebook that I love, but I was limited by what I could do if I didn't have access to wifi for file transfers, internet, and video/screen sharing! This multimedia dock solves all of my problems! It plugs into your USB-C port and has an HDMI port, 2 standard USB ports, a card reader, Ethernet port and a pass-through USB port for power! This is by far the most useful computer accessory I've ever purchased, and it's very compact!

Good portable dock, great with external power

This portable dock adds a 1GB Ethernet port, SD reader, 2 USB 3 ports, HDMI (4K), and a power port to any PC or tablet with a USB C port. I tried this on 2 different computers, one with a newer 3.1 USB C Port, and one with an older 3.1 USB C port, Gen 1. Overall it worked fine. I used a 30W power supply for power, the device handles up to 60W. No 3rd party drivers are needed. Just plug in and Windows 10 will setup the device. All of the ports were setup with no issues. The Ethernet port worked at full speed. I was not able to test it with a USB C tablet. On the newer USB C 3.1 machine, everything worked fine whether or not power was plugged in. Phones charged at a slower rate as the limit is 1.8Amp total (for both ports) as stated in the manual when no power is connected. Ethernet, SD cards and HDMI all worked with no problems, and at the same time. Adding or removing power on the fly caused no hiccups. With power, the USB ports went to 3 Amps (total for both ports) and the computer charged at the same time. For the older computer, 3.1 C gen 1 had some issues trying to use all of the ports at once in non-externally powered mode. The Ethernet worked fine, but once I connected a phone to charge, the unit would restart, disconnecting and trying to reconnect. Connecting or removing power caused the unit to restart too. When power was applied, everything worked fine and all ports could be used at once. Apparently, the USB C Gen 1 didn’t have the power to run everything by itself. Everything else I’ve run on the port has been fine. It's a nice dock, compact, has a SD card reader and has the ports you want to charge and connect other devices. To make sure it always works to fully charge all the devices you want at the same time, I’d connect a power source, at least for older Gen 1 USB C ports. 30W worked fine for me all the time. Newer USB C 3.1 machines should have no issues charging at the lower rates.

Seems to work ok for a bit - but after about a week of use, nothing plugged into the dock would work, and it seems to be magic when it would work or not. This may work for intermittent use, but is worthless for 8-hour a day use

Using it as a docking station for my laptop. Plug it in at my desk and have gigabit ethernet, full size keyboard, mouse, and full size HD display. The dock also has a SD card reader and a 60W charging port for charging a phone, tablet, etc. It's compact, well-built, and does everything as advertised. What's not to like?

    Great Dock for MacBook Pro

USB-C is the future, but the adoption of it is very slow. With the new MacBooks all sporting USB-C ports, it gets really annoying when you realize you can’t plug in your phone to charge or transfer files off an SD card without having to carry specific dongles or purchasing all new cables. This Belkin dock does a great job in fixing this inconvenience. Two USB-A ports, Ethernet, HDMI, SD Card Slot, and a USB-C Power Delivery port make it the only “dongle” you need in your bag. The aluminum construction gives it a nice heft and feel that makes it premium. It also works great at home for connecting your laptop to a monitor. Comparing this to the Apple one is no competition; this Travel dock wins hands down with the assortment of ports. If you're in the market for a USB-C dock, do not cheap out on the ones sold at some online retailer(s). This Belkin dock is a great choice.

The Belkin USB-C Multimedia Hub is an easy, reliable way to turn your laptop into a much more capable device. You simply plug the cord into the USB-C port on your device, and plug in any of a wide variety of devices into the hub, and they will all work like a charm! It will free up the existing ports on your device for other peripherals. Here are the ports on the hub: 2 x USB-A, 1 x USB-C, 1 x HDMI (4K 30Hz), 1 x Gigabit Ethernet, 1 x SD Card Reader. Some other details: the bandwidth of the hub is up to 5Gbps; it supports pass-through charging of up to 60W; 1Gb Ethernet port. As far as devices that it supports, that list includes MacBook, MacBook Pro, Laptops/Ultrabooks, Chromebooks, Thunderbolt 3 Port compatible. I personally hooked up monitors, a thumb drive, and a SD card all at the same time, and they all worked great! What I appreciated is that my device only has 1 USB-C port, so this expands the capability of my device almost to the point of a desktop, as far as connecting and charging goes. The device felt very sturdy, and it never lost the connection. I would highly recommend this device for anybody!

Improved connection options for my MBP!

So this little unit offers several things I missed when moving to my new MacBook Pro last year. Namely, HDMI out and an SD card reader. I used both of those frequently on my prior model, and had to have a separate dongle for each. This combines those, along with an ethernet port (handy), two USB 3.0 ports, and a USB-C with pass through charging. Now for a small downside- the pass through only works one way. That is, you can connect your charger to the "dock", which will then pass on power to the laptop, but the USB-C port is not able to be used to charge or power devices (such as ipad pro, audio interfaces, etc.) which utilize USB C cables. Of course, on the MacBook Pro you have three other ports which can accomplish that, so it is of little concern (not the case on the standard MacBook, though). Unfortunately, the USB-A ports are limited to 1.8 amps (combined), so you won't get quick charging out of those, whether the dock is connected to external power or not. So that's a tiny bit of a bummer. But ultimately the purpose of this unit is to allow connecting multiple devices, utilize HDMI, read SD cards... all things that the MBP lacks straight out of the box. I typically use a slimline, high output, high capacity backup battery to charge my peripherals away from home, anyway. So this is staying in my laptop bag (until the next greatest USB connector format comes along)...

I really love this multimedia dock. I use a Windows tablet that has only one USB C port, so this device allows me to connect to virtually anything, You can even charge your device through it. My Windows tablet has a proprietary charging port, so I don’t need to use this device to charge through, but it’s a nice touch for travelling light. It includes the following ports: 2 USB-A ports, 1 USB-C power pass-through (Pass-through charging up to 60W/ 5Gbps data transfer rate), 1 HDMI port for 4K 30Hz, 1 Gigabit Ethernet port, and 1 SD card reader. It offers a lot of connectivity for the price. It also manages to remain fairly light with all that connectivity at 4.16 oz. This is a great item to have in your bag if you are a road warrior or have a device with limited connectivity. I highly recommend this.
