It does transfer sound, I tried using both iTunes and playing a movie and Windows 10 does have the setting to choose which display will be live when using the MiniDisplay cable. It's alot a lot cleaner than having to use a MiniDisplay to HDMI Adapter.

This cord provided exactly what I needed and i was able to show slides from our travels as well as presentations on our large screen TV.

Not a good cable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have tried several attempts to connect my Macbook Pro to different TV's to see if it makes a difference, but it doesn't. All of them show no signal on the TV after my laptop flashes 2 times. I know my laptop isn't the issue because I have another cable from a different brand that works. My only issue with that cable which was why I bought this one, was because the other one did not have audio support on it. I spent that much money for it to not work.
