Also a lot of times my phone is on it and it isn't charging so I have to fiddle and put it in different positions for it to pick up my phone and charge it.

The charging coils inside the phone and the charger must be connected and properly aligned in order for the wireless charging to work. Moreover, this product is designed to fast charge iPhone and Samsung devices up to 9W while other Qi-enabled device will only charge at a standard speed of 5W.
