Your experience with the Belkin Rockstar is unusual as both the audio and charging functionality is expected to work simultaneously. If you happen to plug two sets of Lightning Audio headphones, then that is not possible and only the first set of headphones will work.

But when I plugged my iPhone charger into the Belkin, it would not charge my phone. I bought this for my car. If it had changed my phone it would have been a perfect adapter. Sadly I had to return it.

Returned it got another one........ same outcome. I got the music just no power . Exactly what I did NOT want.

If you have plugged the Belkin Rockstar into the USB port of the car, then it won't allow to charge your phone. By design, a USB port that is part of the car doesn’t allow charging. When the Rockstar is connected to a car's USB port, the USB audio takes over and renders the charging function as non-functional.
The charging has to come from a car charger or a USB port in the car that does not pass audio and will only charge. If you have questions, please reach out to us at BelkinCares@belkin.com with your contact details and the link to this review.

So one day I went in and I came across this item and to myself I thought it was too good to be true. So I purchased this item. It worked amazing I’m not gonna lie for several days but then when I would have the phone charging and playing music in my car it just disconnected. I know for a fact it couldn’t be my charger or six cord. my charger was brand new and my AUX cord was also brand new. It would charge and play music and all of the sudden stop. I would have to continuously disconnect it and connect it back for it to work. Thus wasting time for my phone to charge. Worst item I ever bought. I would of expected something like this if I bought it from the dollar store. I can’t even return it because it’s passed the 15 day return policy.

And it worked for roughly 4-5 months. It WILL NOT work in temps under 20* if left in the car. Which sucks for NEO winters. I don’t know that I’d buy another one.
