One of the reasons why I was hesitating to purchase the iPhone 7 was because of the inability to charge the phone and listen to music simultaneously. As soon as I was made aware that Apple removed the audio jack and it’s ability to plug in via audio wire I was concerned that I would lose that option and only have bluetooth audio; worst I would have to choose to either power my phone and listen to music via bluetooth or wire in audio and have my phone run down. However, this Belkin Lightning Audio and Charge device is just what the “doctor” ordered. It works as advertised. It is made of good sturdy material which will help in its’ longevity. I can’t stand to use those cheap flimsy devices that break easily after a few uses. It responds instantly when connected via power and does not affect the audio quality. I truly appreciate that I am able to use either side for lightning power and or/or lightening audio. It makes connecting that much easier as you do no need determine which cable needs to be inserted on which side. I love having the option to charge and listen to my music wirelessly at an affordable cost. Thanks Belkin for making another useful and fantastic device.

So yeah, it’s just another dongle in a drawer now.

Adapter “shorts” out quickly

I handled the item carefully and each time the adapter began to “short” out within a month of purchase. I will not be purchasing again.

I tried both sides with and without the lightning adapter and it only charged. I returned it and purchased an off brand splitter online. It works perfectly.

The audio passthrough and charging capability of the adapter is expected to work out of the box. In your case, there could be factors that affected the functionality of the product. If you don’t have Bluetooth you can’t charge while you listen to music. I bought this adapter and gave terrible feedback on the sound system in my car.

We agree; the Lightning Audio + Charge RockStar adapter should've lasted longer than that. Good but only last about a month (+-) working

The Belkin Lightning audio with charge adapter supports dual functionality to listen to Lightning Audio and charge at the same time but, only the first set of headphones you connect will work. However, we could have tried to use another earphone or a different phone for isolation.
