Disclaimer - I received this unit for no cost in exchange for an unbiased review. Belkin Lightning Audio + Charge RockStar works are claimed by the manufacturer. On the downside, there is no sync function. Appears to be bulky with just two lighting ports. No Audio jack, so you are stick with your Lightning EarPod from apple. In my personal opinion and usage pattern, this is either useless or very expensive for what it does. Only helpful if you are running out of battery and using your lightning EarPod at the same time for listening to music on having a conversation.

I've had my iPhone 7 since launch and haven't missed the headphone jack. But I started to run into a problem. When I was at my desk and needed to make a long phone call, I would use my Lightning EarPods because I needed my hands free. The issue was that my iPhone may have been low on battery or losing battery during the call, and there would be no easy way to charge it. The Belkin Lightning and Audio Charge completely solved my problem. The dongle is reliable, light, small, and has a very nice build quality. I no longer have to worry about my phone dying while on a long call because I can simultaneously charge it. Easily fits in a bag or backpack to take anywhere. I am really happy with this wonderful Belkin product.

I'll spare you the diatribe on Apple omitting an audio jack from the iPhone 7. It's annoying, but it's what they did. Unfortunately, the result of this is that, out of the box, you can't charge your iPhone 7 and listen to music via wired headphones. Some of us have invested in nice non-wireless headphones and would like to actually use them while we charge our phones. This adapter from Belkin solves the problem. It allows you to charge your iPhone 7/7+ while using headphones, and it does that perfectly. All the controls work, 3rd party headsets work and it charges while listening. This adapter does this trick without any degradation in audio quality. The only thing would have loved more is for there to be an audio headphone jack on this adapter, like the iPhone 7, it doesn't have one either. Ok so now the main issues with this unit: 1) This adapter does not work with Apple's Smart Battery Case. You must remove the case before the adapter will function properly. 2) This adapter does not pass data through to your laptop. It's no longer possible to develop iPhone applications or sync your iPhone while listening to music on your iPhone at the same time. These two use cases were previously supported when the iPhone had a 3.5 mm headphone jack. It's also worth pointing out that this adapter does not function as a headphone splitter, even though it logically makes sense to support that functionality on something that appears to be a splitter. For $40 dollars, I expect this adapter to work with iTunes and Xcode. But we do not live in a perfect world, so you got to accept some flaws in things.

Let me first I was excited about the Belkin Lightning Audio + Charge RockStar but it lacked what was actually needed. I have the iphone 7 plus and as we all know the headphone jack is non existent. But to have two lightning jacks and still need to carry the headphone adapter killed the product for me. It worked as it was suppose to the music played when directions were followed but to those who would use it such as younger audiophiles it would be a chore. Overall it does what it says just not for me

I work in an office that requires me to have my phone charged and available at all times but I can also discreetly listen to music in my work space. I was wondering how I was going to accomplish charging my phone and listening to my podcasts while working. The RockStar audio and charging connector is great for just that. I can also toss it in my backpack and it doesn't take up any room and doesn't have a long wire that I need to wind up so it doesn't get tangled with other cords. Glad I was able to get this because I don't always want to wear my bluetooth headset and what happens when that runs out of battery. Well, now I have this cord. Two thumbs up.

I have been waiting for a product to charge and play audio since I got my iPhone 7+. It's finally here and I love it. I love the design and I like that it does not matter which side the audio adapter and the USB charge cord goes in. However, you can not use to place double charging (I wouldn't do this anyway) or use double audio adapter plugs. I would have liked to see this since I know more than one person that uses them and sometimes we listen to music at the same time. Not a deal breaker though. I mainly use in my car since my stereo does not play music through the Bluetooth. This is great for people that prefer wired headphones.

The Belkin adapter worked will when listening to music or talking on the phone straight from the device. However when connecting it to a stereo in a car with the adapter there was a lot of static and feedback. The adapter is not huge but still big. I wish that it would be a little slimmer ad not as bulky. its not the pocket friendly if you are carrying it around. to me its more of a leave at home device. I would say its a good thing to have a back up.

The adapter works as it claims to. There is not an apple alternative at this time so there wasn't much of an option other than to irchase this one.

Good device for t hose timew you want to charge your iPhone while using the wired headphones to listen to music at the same time.

I tried this dual-port lightning charger/headphone dongle on both my iPad Air 2 and iPhone 6s. It was a bit loose in the iPhone lightning socket the first time and fit snugly in the iPad lightning socket. Handy for charging and using lightning headphones at the same time. Another reliable product from Belkin.

While this allows me to charge my iphone 7 and have aux out to my car. It is an accessory apple should have included.

This is a very basic dongle that delivers on the mission of providing power while using Lightning headphone. No issues whatsoever on my wife's iPhone 7. While there will undoubtedly be several variations on this theme as other manufacturers make them, you can never go wrong with Belkin cables. This one feels built to withstand being thrown in a bag and knocked around.

Does the job of being about to charge and listen to music at the same time.

My first impression was that this was the answer to Apple's new design. It allows one to listen to music and charge at the same time. It worked well right out of the box, but once I started moving the headphones, the sound stopped. I tried the headphones plugged directly into the iPhone and it worked without an issue. I tested it a second time and encountered the same problem. The charging part worked flawlessly both times, but I had problems with the sound connection. I also tried changing ports on the device, but I encountered the same problem. The concept is great so I am hoping that this is just a one off issue with my product.

I love watching Netflix on my iPhone 7 Plus, but when my battery ran low, I couldn't charge and listen at the same time because of the new jack on the phone. I thought by buying this adapter that would fix my problems and the adapter was great while it lasted which was only a few months. The port in the adapter would no longer work for my headset. Thinking it was maybe my headphones, i of course tried other headsets and it still did not work. I read under the specifications that it has a 2 year warranty. Do I go to Best Buy for this or do I need to contact Belkin for a replacement?

I see the use for this product. A person who uses a external power source (travel size) with the option to listen to music. I can see myself using this for school or while traveling somewhere like on the train or airplane. I don't think its useful for car use because you can always use the bluetooth option to sync up. If the price was lower i would think of adding another star. Over all i think its good for students, I'm a student so it works me when i commute to school or studying.

I use this everyday in the car amazing if you don’t have Bluetooth in your car you can use a aux and charger your phone at the same time

Was very skeptical at first not being a Apple product. But has been working fine for the last 2 weeks. Happy would recommend to others.

You can use this to change and listen to music, but can't use it for double charging or two sets of headphones. The cable works and there's really not much more to it than that!
