It allows me to sit quietly at my desk, put my earphones in while charging my phone. Dont be fooled, you get what you pay for and this is a well made durable fast adapter. keep one at home and work to ensure you have what you need to make your iphone experience all that it should be.

Wish it wasn't needed

I only wish that it wasn't needed, and that the headphone jack was included on the iPhone 8. Having to pay $35 for this, and then have it hanging on the phone is ridiculous, and just one more thing now to get ruined or lost.

I'm not sure what Apple was thinking when they changed to the current jacks without a built in provision for running power while the phone is wired to headsets. Bluetooth is great, but isn't always reliable, so the jack is used for wired headsets and this adapter allows power and jack to run at the same time.

My daughter bought a cheaper one for $10 on Amazon, and by the next day she was telling me it didn't work. So I bought 3 of these at Best Buy, one for each of my kids. They like to listen to music while going to sleep, and they also want to charge their phones for the next day. These work great.
