The Belkin F8J212 should let you charge your phone and use any audio device thru the audio port at the same time. Try using another compatible handheld device to the charging port, and use a different audio device to the aux port for isolation. The Belkin F8J212 offers dual functionality for charging and listening to your iPhone® or iPad®. Whether you want to charge in the car, on the go, or at home, the adapter makes it possible to listen to 3.5 mm audio and power your iPhone simultaneously. Thus, if the audio doesn't work, try using another 3.5mm audio cable. Take note that the Belkin F8J212 does not support Audio In. You may also try using another compatible phone and see if it makes any difference.
