I know more people use wireless, but this is an expensive set and I did not want to replace. The jack makes it possible to continue to use a great headset ...I am just sorry Apple continues to assume they know what the consumer wants.

Lightning to Headphone Jack/Charging Adapter

I used it on a field trip to Orlando; I was able to listen to a movie with headphones while at the same time charging it (my phone) using the myCharge Hub Max 10,050 (I wrote a review on that and the myCharge Hub Plus, which I recommend both of those highly as well!). Excellent purchase - DEFINITELY a “Best Buy!!”

That's where the auxiliary cable comes in handy. I bought this one because I bought the iPhone 8 and I needed this to connect from my existing auxilliary cable into the lightning port. There have been a couple of instances where I've had to jam the pieces together in order to get it to come through my speakers.
