Probably cost a few cents to manufacture. Cheap feeling plastic. There are better options out there. I ended up replacing these with something better.

Secure holder for Apple AirTags

Four stars instead of five because you have to be careful to orient them as they are in the package when twisting the two halves to lock in the AirTag. Doing it the wrong way causes them to jam. I didn’t see any instructions about that and learned the hard way.

Best Air Tag holder: Period!

It keeps our Air Tags secure and being very slim, it's perfect for my wife's small purses. We have too many air tags to take care and we never lost any of them due to air tag holders. Other holders from Amazon are not a match for the Belkin quality. Money well spent. Thanks!

The Price is Silly

As a result, the whole thing is much less bulky in your pocket or purse. That said, the price is a little ridiculous for a little piece of plastic.
