Customers are enthusiastic about the Shield Sheer Matte Case for iPad Air's lightweight design and the excellent protection it offers against scratches. Many appreciate the case's perfect fit, its ability to work seamlessly with other accessories, and the improved grip it provides. Positive feedback also highlights the case's high-quality materials and attractive appearance. While some mention a slight increase in bulk, this is generally considered minimal compared to the benefits.

This cover works as advertised. However, it is a bit pricy, and the protruding edges make it difficult to open the iPad cover.

Great with Smart Cover

For 20$ you can't go wrong. This case with the smart cover for 40$ and you have good protection for your device. If you want better drop protection then maybe a lifeproof or otterbox would be better but those cases are around 100$ and add a lot of bulk/weight to your device.

This product is not rigid like most snap on cases. The problem is corners keep popping out. Returned it.

I used a Targus leather case with my 3rd generation iPad but the Targus cases for the iPad air do not activate the on/off feature. The Smart Cover is light weight and does turn the unit on and off but provides no protection for the back of the iPad. The Shield Sheer Matte cover works great with the Smart Cover. Everything is thin and light yet protected. This is the perfect combination. I am very pleased.

Used the case like this on my IPad 3 for years and loved it. Was happy to see one made for the air and so soon after release. Fits perfect, all access to buttons and such, and allows you to use your Smart Cover. A perfect combination!

If you buy this type of case you should remember that it is recommended to remove case at least once a month and clean dust under the cover. Because dust may cause mini scratches. I would recommend this case for smart cover lovers and for people who use iPad mostly in safe conditions, but not on the go. Because if you drop iPad to concrete with this case it would protect iPad much. Overall the product is great.

Well protect when dropped

I've been using since 1st day, the back case is light, doesn't add much, even weight even put on smart cover.
Best thing for this case is well protect when you drop, because I dropped a few time, iPad doesn't get any damage but after 5 or 6 dropped the case cracked, that I had to get new one.
for under $20 can't beat it.

The sleeve fits well but has some flex to it around the edges. Good scratch protection. Impact protection is likely as good as can be expected.

Nice back cover for use with Apple Smart Cover

This was exactly what I was looking for to pair with an Apple Smart Cover. It fits the iPad Air nice and snug and the cut-outs for the buttons and camera align perfectly. It's also clear, so you can still see the space gray back of the iPad. The only negative is that it is way overpriced at $29.99. It should cost half that much.

I have a keyboard case for my iPad Air that is great when I need to do a lot of typing, but there are situations in which I'd rather not lug around the bulk and weight of the keyboard case. This back cover paired with an Apple Smart Cover do a great job of protecting the front and back without making it real thick or heavy. I don't know that I'd pay $30 for it, but I got mine on clearance at BB for $7.99. Great find at that price!

$30 for a piece of plastic that broke.

Bought this in October when I bought my iPad.
It developed a crack within a few days, apparently because it installed and removed it a couple of times when I was applying a screen protector.
The other day it developed another crack that left a piece of plastic sticking out by the volume control. It's completely useless.
Emailed Belkin, they said I had to call, so I called. Spent 34 minutes on the phone and discovered they wouldn't replace it without a receipt.
I pointed out that I could send the thing to them (how would I have gotten it, right?) but, no.
Have to say I didn't expect a protective case to break, silly me.
So, the design or materials used thing are defective and I'm out $30.
No more Belkin products for me.
