Solves my problem
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are looking for an ethernet adapter and have a relatively new PC or MAC (probably why you are looking at this one) you might have the same problem as me, only USB C ports or may a USB A port if your lucky and certainly not an ethernet port. So if you want to get directly into a device or just want to have the full speed of your internet when your at your desk you need a converter of some kind. I have one windows tablet that's only port is USB C, This little dongle is worth it since it has pass through power. When I'm limited on ports that can be extremely important. I like the size of this as I have a kit of different dongles, chargers, cords, pens, etc. that lives in my backpack for when I'm different places (not currently in the constant use it once was with the current state of affairs) . If you are at your desk constantly a usb c hub might be a more condensed solution for you but if you are looking for a device for you to be able to hardwire in on the go that is small (like at hotels or on devices in the field) I think this is a good little device for that and I would definitely recommend getting the pass through power (I have one without it and I have found myself stuck with a dead computer and the need to connect to a device and have a USB in the other port in the field and had to wait for some battery). Overall it does it job, my one concern is it does get warm, not like ouch that hurts but more like a oh that's nice and warm. This will most likely depend on how dead your laptop is and one could look at it as a bonus if your in a none heated room in the winter I suppose as it would make a perfect handwarmer. To the functionality of it. I tried it on Windows 10 and Windows 10 running on ARM, both were recognized immediately and switched over to the LAN connection so that side of the functionality is great. Also with this being in my travel bag I do wish the cord wrapped a little easier, maybe started on one side instead of the middle and had a notched area on the other side, but at this point that is just me wishing for something that I haven't really seen anywhere. Pros: nice size usb thru charge Higher wattage charging (mine take up to 45W so I know that works at least) Cons: Gets warm

Doesn't stay connected
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Would not recommend -- the USB side of the adapter does not maintain solid contact resulting in it repeatedly and constantly disconnecting. Very frustrating as I really want to support the American-made Belkin despite its vastly higher price. Disappointing.

A must-have to work from home.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A lot of devices now, especially the slim ones no longer have an Ethernet port. As much as WiFi technology has improved over the years it still can’t provide an interference-free stable connection as being connected directly to your router. When I was in the market for an Ethernet adapter I needed something that would not just be compatible with my Chromebook device but also with my iPad Pro and Galaxy Tab S6 device too. Another must-have feature was power delivery. Some devices only have 1 USB C port so if you start to run out of power that means you would have to disconnect whatever device you have plugged in at that time. Belkin has had previous Ethernet Network adapters but not one that can charge your device too. Now that I have been working from home lately for the last couple of weeks I’ve learned to appreciate a solid stable internet connection. For the last couple of weeks, I’ve been using WiFi to connect to my work computer. It is ok for 60% of the time but the other 40% when that lags kicks in it can get frustrating. For my type of work, I need a solid connection. I spend half of my time sharing screens with coworkers or conference calls via Microsoft Teams. I also work with a lot of excel files. It's not the same as running excel from your actual computer. There have been plenty of times that I have scrolled past the cell or it would just keep scrolling until my screen finally catches up with my work computer due to lag. Even just as basic typing I have experienced a 3-4 sec delay for the character to appear on the screen after I’ve pressed the key on the keyboard. Imagine this happening with a video call where there’s a 3-4 second delay when someone speaks. So, yeah this would definitely make your day frustrating. I can happily report that 99% of the time my work experience has been lag-free. After switching over to a wired connection it’s been a night and day difference. Working on my work computer from home feels close to actually working on it. I no longer have to scroll slow on Excel just so I don’t pass the cell I’m trying to land on. Conference calls and sharing screens sessions have vastly improved. I no longer have audio cut-outs or delays. If I do have some sort of network issue and quick router reboot will usually fix it. If any issues arise now are going to be either server or network problems. The Ethernet adapter supports 10/100/1000 connection. If you have Gigabit Fiber internet Belkin has you covered. So in the beginning I did mention that I needed it to be compatible with my other devices like my iPad Pro and Galaxy Tab S6. For the iPad Pro, I mainly use it for productivity work. I have a shared network storage device that I used to copy to and from for my multiple devices. These files can range from small as a document or too big as 4K video. Transferring files over WiFi is very convenient but very slow when it comes to large files. When I need to transfer a large file from my network storage to either of my devices including the iPad Pro or Tab S6 using the Ethernet Network adapter have vastly cut down the time needed to complete a file transfer. For example, copying a 5gb movie file to VLC on my iPad would sometimes take around 20mins+ over WiFi. The same movie file over Ethernet cuts it down to less than 10mins. Keep in mind that your router plays a huge role in your wired speeds. Most of the routers that have come out in the last couple of years all come with Gigabit Ethernet ports. Even the times it takes to connect the Ethernet Network adapter still comes out faster than just waiting for it to be finished over WiFi. Another reason besides the speed is stability. There have been times that large files have failed to transfer requiring me to start the process all over again. It’s disappointing when you have spent 15mins waiting for a file to transfer just to have it quit on you when it’s’ almost done. Last but not least is remote play from my Xbox One X or PS4 Pro to my Galaxy Tab S6 device. Remote play over WiFi is pretty much useless. Even having all devices disconnected from your network with just the console via a wired connection and Galaxy Tab S6 over WiFi the lag makes it unplayable. After connecting the Belkin USB C Network Adapter to my Tab S6 it right away recognized it and switched my data connection to the Ethernet. Just to make sure my connection was strictly wired I shut off the WiFi on my device. Let me just tell you I wish I would have done this so much earlier. With the Tv being used already I was left without a Tv to play my Xbox One X. I was able to beat the campaign for Doom Eternal through my Galaxy Tab S6 using via remote play. Now Doom Eternal is a fast-paced shooter that having anything above minimal lag will just get you destroyed quickly trust me almost had a rage quit moment lol. Now remote play is not perfect you will still get a little bit of lag sometimes so online multiplayer won’t be enjoyable as a single-player campaign. So yeah a wired connection is a must for remote play. Overall if you need a wired connection for your devices the Belkin Network Adapter is a good choice not only because of power delivery capabilities, Gigabit connection, and compatibility with wide variety Android, IOS, Mac, and Window devices. Heck just for fun I even tried it on my Note 10+ device and yes it worked.

It's not the device, it's the sales advice
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.was told by BB in store that it would work w/ my Mac. It did not. Retuned it and bought an ethernet adapter at Apple since BB didn't carry it. I am unable to evaluate device since it was inappropriate to begin with.

Great adapter if you need it
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My new laptop doesn’t have an Ethernet port. For the most part that’s fine since nearly everything now days uses wifi. However, there are times when an Ethernet port in necessary. I have a few older ip webcams that need to be plugged directly into to set up, also occasionally I’ll be at hotels for work where the free WiFi is pathetically slow, but you get normal speeds if you plug into the wired connection in your room. This adapter gives you that flexibility. The setup was easy and quick, basically just plug and play with your usb-c port. The speeds were great, although I wasn’t able to test the max speed for it since I was getting pretty much the max speeds for my internet connection, so I don’t know how far beyond that it will go. Overall a great device to get a wired connection if you’re computer doesn’t have one built in.

Corded... x2
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a must have for every USB-C laptop or compatible device user.... I have been using this on my MacBook, to have my computer connected to my wired network connection (instead of wireless), when I have been set at my desk on an external monitor... What is great is having the usage of a single port for this, and the power as well... leaving my other three wide open for other things. Simply plug in and connect your network wire, and go. Nothing else to do. Adding this to your travel bag (when we travel again), is a must... as at a client or hotel, you may not have a wireless option... or need to have a temporary wired connection. What is also nice, is that when you use this, you can BRIDGE your connection through your laptop... connecting other devices through your laptop. Small, simple, and easy to use.

Only get 170bps
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I only get 170 Mbps out of it with my Thinkpad X1 Extreme which is a high end laptop. Another laptop with integrated Ethernet gets 330 Mbps which is close to our 400 Mbps plan. Taking this back for a refund.
