The Belkin AVC002 is compatible with mobile devices and laptops that have a video-enabled USB-C port, and this has also been tested to work with Thunderbolt™ 3 port-compatible devices. Clever and Useful HDMI Adapter
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.With the shift to ever slimmer laptops and phones, the number and types of ports available is shrinking to only USB-C, micro-USB, and USB 3.0 ports. This means connecting a laptop, chromebook, or phone to a presentation projector, external monitor, or even a tv requires an external adapter. The Belkin USB-C to HDMI(4K) Adapter definitely fit the bill. I wanted just a HDMI adapter to cut down on bulk over a full docking station. The Belkin USB-C to HDMI is tiny so it fits in a sleeve with the laptop and appears to be very well made. With so many of these devices using a USB-C port for charging, it means dedicating two ports, one for power and one for video. The laptop/phone charger can be plugged in to the Belkin adapter so that a single port can be used for both AC charging and video output. The video quality is excellent, both at 1080p and 2160p (4K). Even light gaming with high motion (Zwift and World of Warcraft, for reference) work well at 4k(60hz) resolution. When I got this, I didn't really think much of the power port idea, I was looking for a small 4K HDMI adapter that was well constructed and with excellent video. Now being able to use a single port has been a lifesaver more than once. For reference, this has worked extremely well with a HP Spectre laptop, Dell Laptop, HP Chromebook, and a Samsung phone. This is a no brainer. Highly recommended!

My wife and I watched a movie from my phone projected onto our garage door, and it felt like we were at a movie theater. This adapter is fantastic. The best part is it does not need to be "plugged in", or charging your phone in order to work like other adapters I've tried. I've only watched movies in 1080p, because that's the best my projector will display, but it's supposed to good up to 4K. Likes: 1.) Easy to use 2.) Not required to be plugged in 3.) Small, easy to transport Dislikes: 1.) None!
