The one I got was defective, it would go out/disconnect at random times. Not often at first but then it got too often where it be game a annoyance to have to unplug it and then replay it, especially when watching a movie. Took it back and exchanged it for a genuine apple google. Now I have no problems.

We could have tried to use the adapter on a different USB-C enabled device or change the HDMI cable for isolation but, the Belkin USB-C to HDMI + Charge Adapter should work properly out of the box.
