Very, very, tight fit inserting both into the computer and the thumb drive into it. I was afraid at times that I would damage something when inserting into the computer. I would suggest that one refrain from constant insert and removal.

USB Type A to USB Type C Adapter to the Rescue

This adapter was the perfect solution for my problem.

Not only does it match well with my Space Gray MacBook Pro, but this adapter fully supports USB 3.1 compared to most other brands, including Apple, only supports USB 2.
