Nonetheless, it works fine for what it was built for--disc plugged into wall but will charge phone without having to plug the phone in. My mistake. Nothing wrong with the product.

Good for desk

Compared to the 20W wall plug in though, this charges slower and the phone gets quite warm while sitting on it. Perfect if you're not needing a quick charge

The iPhone 12 is new and slightly bigger than the 11. Still I believe the 12 should fully charge within 2 hours as it can on iPhone charger.

Causes phone battery to run hot; take out of case

Very convenient not having to plug cord into phone port, but doesn’t work consistently while the phone is in a case. Also the phone battery runs hot afterward. This particularly bothers me. The box also arrived open. Not the shipping box but the box that housed the product. Overall it works as described. I’mnot doing cartwheels as a result of its performance. It’s okay.

This behavior is quite unusual and we'd like to check the unit further. The Belkin WIA001 can be used with phone cases not thicker than 3mm (lightweight plastics only), no metal objects. Moreover. try charging another compatible phone for isolation. This charger is considerably slower than the last one I bought. The second part is not me. It has a fairly small sweet spot where it goes from not charging to charging. I have woken up with a dead cell phone on the charger because I wasn’t perfectly centere
