Our first juicer came in with a cracked food shoot which was most likely a package handling mishap and not a matter of poor material quality. While this juicer does what it supposed to do 80% of the time, we have had several consistent hiccups when processing tougher foods such as carrots, beets, or small ginger roots. The reason I believe the occasional catches happen is that the power output of the internal motor is low overall. This juicer has an advertised 1000-watt motor but I don't believe it is that powerful at all. The low setting will frequently cause the shedder (blade) to not cut through tougher food exteriors. Even on high, the blade can get caught at times and it requires you to remove the food shoot and remove the obstruction from the blade before you can continue juicing.
