Continual electrical odor, counter stain warning

The manual says the feet will discolor your countertop unless you place it on a tray (an accessory that they do not sell—i asked support). The good news is that I haven’t noticed any staining yet. 2. They tell you it will emit a chemical odor on first use. That odor doesn’t improve over time. Instead of a “fresh-baked bread” aroma, you get an electrical odor even after using it every day for a month. 3. The side supports within the slots do not support sliced bread so your slice has to lean to one side, which means the top of the slice gets super toasty on one side and the bottom of the opposite side gets super toasty. Bottom line: I will keep it until I find something better that’s less than $150! But then I’ll donate it to charity. I should have read the manual before purchasing.
