Wife likes this model better because it has more cooking functions. Unfortunately it was not on sale at the time.

I have only used it as an air fryer and it has worked admirably. May take a little adjustment to get the correct time/temperature as I have experienced with other air fryers. Controls take a little getting used to.

Hot Plastic smell?

You just don't have many cooking options to choose, you need to decide how many time and temperature, in other words, the machine doesn't suggest it. But It's interesting in terms of cost-benefit.
