A “fried crispiness” can be achieved with many packaged, frozen goods like these because they are coated with a fat, and the hot air heats it to fry on the surface while the interior bakes.

I bought this on sale and it's great! I use it at least once a week. Definitely a good starter choice. It has a small basket but big enough for a one person portion. If you're cooking for two or more, go larger! The temperature on this also cannot be set higher than 400, just fyi.
