I had the last one a couple of years until the cord started smoking. I loved it so much that I just replaced it with another one. Unfortunately, after using it a few times, I noticed that it toast the bread unevenly. I have mine set on 3 and it now toasts one side dark and the other side is too light. So it's a hit and miss thing as with all toasters. TIP: Be careful when winding the cord around the bottom holder because the "arm" that holds the plug in place will scrap off the rubber, which could lead to it burn through like my old one did. Thankfully, I was standing and watching the unit when mine began smoking.
