Have had the need to run on high settings, have always just needed to use for bread slices at '2' setting. Works well, looks good, easy to clean. The only negative is a bit of non uniform browning of the bread - liveable not lovable.

Great Toaster

Compared to the 2 previous toasters we have, this is the best one. It accommodates different size breads and is deeper. I like the 6 heat, warm, and bagel setting. 3-4 setting is perfect for me. My bagels or cinnamon toast stays soft on the inside. It is also very pretty and appear to be well made. I don't buy gluten-free bread so I am not sure what that is about. When it goes on sale again, I will replace the one I have at work even though it still works. :-)
